The ONLY sorority and fraternity organizations who are "sisters and brothers" are Zeta Phi Beta and Phi Beta Sigma!

Depending on the university, region of the country, even semester will you find certain sorority and fraternity organizations calling themselves "brothers and sisters".

However, WE ARE ALL SISTERS AND BROTHERS in the land of GREEKDOM!

Red face brother/sister organizations

Hi. I know the kappas do not have a sister organization because my father and brothers are kappas, but i just learned that sigmas ans zetas are the only organizations that are bound as brother and sisters. for such a long time i believed that the deltas and the que's as well as the alphas and the aka's were brothers and sisters. Have i been given misinformation or is that true?

i don't care what anyone says my bruhs and i refer to the AKA's as our sisters. i don't know how national feels about the bond between us but you can go to any yard where they're alpha's and AKA's and you will see a bomd that is tighter than that of the sigmas and the zeta's.

one love

Well, I've been to many college campuses and I have seen the AKAs claim the Kappas as their brothers. Also, on some campuses the Alphas claim their sweethearts as their sisters. So really it depends on the campus. It is true that some sororities and fraternities that are not constitutionally bound have a strong bond, but the only true brother and sister organization is Zeta Phi Beta Sigma.

MsDetroit1920,

Now you know that's an anomaly!

ALPHA and AKA have had a strong connection since their inception...

While we don't have any document claiming that...we are frat and soror...simply based on history...

While Zeta and Sigma have a documented bond!

Each of the organizations have a reason for their bond with other orgs...Is that coincidence no...is it a coincidence that Deltas and Ques claim one another NO!

You Know and I Know That...

At our recent convention, Many ALPHAs who had long traditions of the FRAT in the Family...told stories (at the podium) of How ALPHA was so deep that Father, Grandfathers and Uncles are ALPHAs and ALL The women including wives and daughters are AKAs. It was well received, indeed condoned! They didn't say Zeta or Delta or even SGRho...They said AKA as a part of the long lineage of ALPHA...

I myself...LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE AKAs...If it weren't for them ALPHA would've been a little harder to become...In fact, I married an AKA...

I say every ALPHA deserves perfection by his side!!!

Ice Cold Kreator

Gosh,

Didn't mean to get you excited. All I was saying is that on some campuses AKAs do not claim Alpha as being their brother organization(vice versa) and the same thing goes for the Ques and the Deltas. I do however know that certain organizations have a reason for their bond with another organization.

I became an Alpha Angel in 95(Zeta in 96)and my fiancee is an Alpha(since 89) and the only bond that he said the Alphas and AKAs had was that they were the first founded. It doesn't bother me one way or the other,I have much Love for all Greeks, I was just commenting on the fact that regardless of who claims to be brother and sister, the Zetas and the Sigmas are the only constitutionally bound fraternity and sorority. And the fact still remains that it varies from campus to campus as to who claims to be brother and sister. But everywhere you go Zeta and Sigma are brother and sister. Like AKA2d '91 said "WE ARE ALL BROTHERS AND SISTERS in the land of GREEKDOM!"
Peace and Much Greek Love,
MsDetroit1920

In the very first reply to this post, my soror, AKA2D answered the question. All other replies have been regarding the way members of the respective organizations feel about the bond that exists without national recognition. The members of APhiA on this message board serve as a great example of the bond we do share with many of their members. I thank them for being so positive.
