blonde highlights
I am thinking about getting highlights. But I'm not sure...
Right now I've darkbrownish long hair and babyblue eyes. And I am kind of afraid that my hair's gonna dry out...

Highlights are fun. And if you use a good conditioner and keep the blow dryer on a low heat setting you should help keep the dryness to a minimum.

Everyone has highlights.
Dark hair is rare, exotic, and beautiful nowadays, ESPECIALLY in combination with blue eyes.
I say stay the way you are.

I suggest Herbal Essences for dry hair. My highlights didn't dry my hair out, but that conditioner makes it feel nice regardless

I have had blonde highlights for the past year, and I love them. The last time I got them done, I also got a coppery color mixed in. So I had two different color highlights. It turned out really good and has lasted for a couple months now.
I say use a color shampoo and conditioner and low setting on your hair dryer, you'll be fine if you do that.
Also, since they are only highlights they won't dry out all of your hair, just the highlighted strands.....and if you get them done right you're hair won't dry out at all.
Good luck!!

Highlights are fun! I need to get mine redone before the first weekend in May. As long as you keep up with them, and use a good shampoo, you shouldn't have any problems with your hair. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Highlights are always fun. You should try getting chunky ones, I think they add a lot of character to dark hair. And definetly use a special coloring shampoo and conditioner- not the cheap ones- buy them from a salon, usually you can get a deal on them when you get your hair done. Also, keep up on your highlights or dye your hair back if you can't keep up with them b/c there is nothing worse than dark hair with blonde highlights that start at your ears!
but condition, condition, condition... especially with summer coming up!!

I think highlights are cute (I've had them for about 3 years)... but I also think dark hair and light eyes are gorgeous, so I would suggest thinking about it first- but I think it would look good if you go for it...

I use TIGI "Dunb Blode" shampoo and conditioner every day along with a stonger softeining conditioner once or twice a week, and it works WONDERS. If you get the really big bottles, it's not as expensived as you would think either.
If you do get highlights, make sure to use more than 1 color to highlight, and don't go too far above your natural haircolor (esp before summer... they will get lighter cuz of the sun). And please stay away from the skunk look. It's prettier to have a more subtle style!
