... I wonder if anybody can tell me what the heck has happened to Sade????? The last news I read about her, ... the VERY last news I read about her (which was VERY long ago), was that she had an indictment out against her in either South America or Africa, because she out ran the police and got away somehow. They, apparently, never caught up with her. Would she be in hiding over something like that? I hope not. I have almost ALL of her CDs and tapes. "No Ordinary Love" has me literally fiending for something new. I will have to use Amel Larrieux as a substitute. But she's a good substitute, so I don't mind.

A couple of years ago, on Tom Joyner, by the way, he gets married to health fitness guru, Donna Richardson tomorrow.

Anyway, that Sade was arrested for possessing marijuana somewhere. Jamaica, South America, somewhere down there...

She has not had a CD out since Fall 93 (my last semester in college). I do miss her, too!

WHAT ABOUT ANITA BAKER...
haven't heard anything from her since she and that record exec at Elektra had a fight!

I concur. A long list of very GOOD recording artists we haven't heard from in a while. Was it '93 when Sade came out with No Ordinary Love? I thought it was Fall of '92. I was in school so long, maybe it just felt like it. I think you're right about Jamaica. I didn't know they found marijuana on her. She just doesn't seem like the type. I hope she was just an innocent victim of circumstance.

I wasn't a fan of Anita Baker much, though. When my sister lived in California, she said nobody out there liked her. They claimed she had an awful personality. I wouldn't know. I think Toni Braxton has part of her vocal style, of whom I am very proud of these days. When people file bankruptcy, they shatter. But Toni seems to have proven that music is and always will be her love. She is living it to the fullest. I'm so glad I don't ever see any bad press about her as far as gossip is concerned. She seems so classy.

Soror, it could have been Fall 92 (my last semester living on campus!) That very well could have been the time. My CD jacket is packed in my boxes, so I couldn't go check...

BUT I do know that it was da bomb! Especially, BULLET PROOF SOUL!!!

Anita Baker was big here in LA. She may have a personality problem, hence the catfight betweeen she and Luther years back.

I thought the fight between she & Luther was because they were on tour together and she came out singing one of his songs? You know who else I miss? Regina Bell. I LOVED "Baby Come to Me".

I saw Regina Belle on Bobby Jones gospel show this summer. She had a song/video out like a couple of years ago, but it did not do too well.
