Cool Greek Week!!!

It's Greek Week on my campus right now! I'm curious as to what kind of events other schools have .... we just finished the Art Plaque competition tonight - we don't know if we won yet - we get judged after the Lip Sync competition next week. But our fingers are crossed!

Art plaque? Our school does that too.

Most of our greek week schedule is messed up because of snow but we did have basketball and floor hockey last night.

Ours is held in the fall. We have 3 on 3 basketball, a talent Show, mile Run, tug of war, sprinting, human pyramid, dizzy bat race, and a pie eating contest. We also have a guest speaker one night and we get points for what percentage of our chapter shows up. I'm sure there are maybe two other events, they aren't coming to me though.

Ours ended on Saturday. I was pleased with the final results. We placed 4th overall, which isn't bad for my chapter.

The most important part is we reclaimed our Rope Pull title!

Our Greek Week is this week also, and most of the outside events must be rescheduled due to unseasonable rain and cold.

Yup, same here...this week is our Greek Week. It's been so cold and rainy though, that is has been pretty miserable. We are still having some of the outside events - but it's just gross. Like tug of war turned into a mud tug of war...and the sand volleyball courts were flooded druing volleyball. Sunday was the only clear day. Here are the events we have:

Participation Activities (GLO's get points for % participation):
> Blood Drive
> Service Raleigh (HUGE city wide service project - imagine 3,000 college and high school students devoting a whole day to community service around the city - over 11, 000 man hours of work is completed in one day)
> Body-Image fair (promoting healthy body images for women on campus)
> Stomp fest
> Movie night (set up on one of the fields near Fraternity Court)
> Fat Brain - Skinny Body Speaker (again, promoting healthy body images for women on campus)
> Making Greek Great again Speaker

Sporting Events:
> Fraternity Basketball
> Fraternity Slam-dunk contest
> Fraternity Kickball
> Fraternity Ultimate Frisbee
> Fraternity Tug-of-war
> Fraternity Volleyball
> Sorority Volleyball
> Sorority Kickball
> Sorority Tug-of-war
> Sorority and Fraternity Bowling

Other competitive events:
> Lip Sync
> Serenade (like Greek Sing)

At the end of Greek week we have a huge concert put on my the Inner Fraternity Council right after awards.

By the way, here was one of the highlights from the lip sync :

Other pictures of the Lip Sync can be foundHERE.
And pictures from my game of kickball are HERE.

Ours is this week. I have no idea how they are doing and cant make it out to anything till Friday. They won lip sync (for the 4th year in a row, I might add) but were, "disqualified, because a contestant touched a judge, which is a violation of the rules." Actually, the judge touched the performer. Apparently she didnt know about the no contact rule. I can assure you an appeal has been filed. The SGA president and 3 sororoity presidents have said thatyd write letters supoporting the appeal. I am sure it will be overturned. People always hate on the big dogs i guess.
