Exclamation Interested, Help Me????

Hello,
My name is Zarifa Roberson and I am currently a junior at Millersville University, Millersville, Pa. I am interested in reactivating the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on this campus. Recently, I have spoken with Ms. C. Booker and she informed me that I must contact the grad. chapter in this area, which is in Harrisburg, Pa. I have contacted this chapter in writing, but I have not recieved a response. I would like to visit and speak to the members concerning my dilemma. Please contact me at moniqua_t@hotmail.com

How long has it been since you contacted the grad chapter? Grad chapters usually meet once a month. If they got your letter, they may be obtaining the necessary information before getting in touch with you. Also, they may be considering whether or not they want to take on the additional responsibility of overseeing an undergrad chapter depending on the size of their chapter and their activities. Do you know if there is more than one grad chapter in Harrisburg? We have two grad chapters where I live. They are not responsible for the same undergrad chapters. Do you know the history behind why the chapter does not exist on your campus? That could also be a factor. Are there other young ladies interested in helping you reactivate the chapter? We discussed this in an earlier post that there needs to be a certain number to reactivate a chapter.

Cool

The last time I have been in contact with grad. chapter was last month. There is only one grad. chapter in Harrisburg, Pa. that I know of. The chapter died out because they were caught haziness (I do not know this is true) and they were accepting people who do not have the GPA. This cause the chapter had to go under suspension and eventually it became dissolved. Yes, there are other interested on this campus but there are few who are willing to help me. The sad part about all of this is that many of the ladies know that I am trying to get a chapter back up here and nobody wants to help out(except for a few). We as black women on this campus should be more supportive and caring enough to help each other out when in times of need on this multi-cultural campus. There is another university who wants to have a joined chapter with us. I personally think it will be better off like this for right now. It is so hard to reactivative a chapter but I am not going let these people get my determination down. I always try to put my best foot forward and to keep God in my life whatever I do.
