I cannot believe I just did that....
I just send in an online application to be on the next Bachelor. I mean seriously folks, what is wrong with me? Am I that frustrated with traditional dating that I am willing to go on television, make a fool of myself and try to win a man???
Maybe it is just my competetive drive coming out, but yes, yes I am!
Now let the ridiculing begin!

I considered nominating my big sis. I think it would be fun. Just think of all the awesome places they went. I'd go on the show just to have an opportunity to go somewhere I've never been, doing something only a select few can do.

Apparently, the next Bachelor is hot! He's Andrew Firestone, heir to the tire company....I saw a picture of him, and dude....he's the real deal, the total package. So, you better let your claws out and do some hair pulling, cause he's WORTH it!!
Good luck, I hope you make it!!!

I think that's great! Too bad it's not one of those voting shows, you'd win for sure with all the GC support!
Good luck and let us know what happens!!!!

That sounds like fun, ilovemyglo! Seriously, I think you will get picked. You have qualities that *a lot* of the girls on those shows do not have - you are gorgeous, ambitious, intelligent, kind, and well-spoken. Good luck to you! We on GC will be so psyched if we can say, "Omg! I know the girl that's married to the Firestone heir!!"

but is all of it for real? wasn't the cat from marry a millionaire not even a real millionaire? i guess it's hard to believe becuase a lot of this stuff comes out fake. it's like the internet, we can all be 6'5 250 pound, 2% body fat, 2500 (of course out of a possible 1600 ), harvard law school grad with millions of dollars and 6 foot member. but how much of it is true?

Yes it's real, it was reported by ABC. And also, the people from the Firestone family have reported it true. I think I heard about it on Entertainment Tonight, too.
I've seen pictures of him from the Kentuck Derby a couple years ago, and believe me...he's hot! Tall, dark and handsome. This isn't Fox, ABC isn't as trashy..

I seriously doubt that I will be picked, but I think it is funny. I mean really, what do I have to lose? I figure I have as a good a chance as any girl, except I am not perfect in a bathing suit, my teeth aren't perfect, I am young and I don't come from money, other than that- I think I will do okay!
My friend asked me if she could live in our pool house... haha!
PS Where is there a pic of him? I hear that their corporate headquarters is in Nashville, which I LOVE!

From the New York post:
February 27, 2003 -- Is this tire heir the new 'Bachelor' boy?
The Santa Barbara News-Press reported yesterday that ABC is likely to name Andrew Firestone as the next star of "The Bachelor." Firestone, the sales manager for his family's Firestone Vineyard in Santa Barbara, is also the great-grandson of tire legend Harvey Firestone.
According to the Firestone Vineyard website, Andrew is the son of vintner Brooks Firestone (Harvey's son) and British Royal Ballet soloist Catherine Boulton Firestone. He grew up in Santa Ynez Valley and graduated from the University of San Diego in 1998.
"I plan on starting a family someday, and by growing the family business, I will be building my children's future as well," he says on the site.
