Let's hear about Recruitment!
Hey sisters,
I know that for some of you, Fall Recruitment is in full swing! Some of you are also done with your events. So--when y'all have time, please post your recruitment stories here! I know that we'd all love to hear how well we all did!

Ok, this doesn't have to do with my school's Recruitment, but I was reading under the Rush forum about a girl (Sarah) who is at South Alabama (I think). She has been invited back to Chi Omega and Alpha Gam...she said she knew in her heart where she should be and that she hoped the girls thought as highly of her as she did of them. I think she is going to the 3rd round now. She sounds so sincere. You girls should read her posts (I think it's under Rush at South Alabama). Everyone is so excited for her!

I read her messages, too. She's adorable...made me want to cry when I read them!
We should know soon.

Okay, now I'm really sad, seriously. But I do know that everything happens for a reason. Hopefully she'll find a wonderful home at Chi Omega. But I'm still sad.

I know everything has a way of working out for the best...I was disappointed for her, because I could sense how much she wanted it. But keep in mind, ladies, Chi-O is an amazing organization, too! I'm sure she will be an asset to them.

Leslie, do you think that she would even know that she could do this? I know when I went through Recruitment, that wouldn't have even crossed my mind.

Just wanted to let you guys know how our Rush went. Saturday was our Bid Day and that night was our Pledge Luau, therefore Rush is officially over! The girls of Gamma Omega (my chapter at University of AL at Birmingham) had an absolutely amazing rush! We got EVERY single girl we wanted. We made quota plus one. I will post a pic of our new girls later. They are the best pledge class I have seen in the four years I've been a sister. This pledge class is not only gorgeous, but they are leaders and wonderful girls. Before Rush all the sisters had a talk about how an Alpha Gam is not something you become but something you are born as. We really found our true Alpha Gams this year. I am so proud of our chapter!

No problem Sarah--I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I'm so happy that your chapter got the girls you wanted--and best of luck with getting the 10 more! Our recruitment doesn't start till September 10th, so I'm enjoying hearing about how well my sisters did! Something to keep me busy in the meantime.

Gamma Phi - Georgia Tech
I just heard that GPhi made Quota plus 1!! Ironically, one of the other sororities that always makes quota didn't!!
I haven't heard about Gamma Alpha (UGA), but I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Gamma Tau (State Univ. of West Georgia) has their Recruitment next weekend!
Congrats again to Gamma Phi!!

Thanks for the update Lynn. I feel like it's Election Day all over again and we're all waiting for the results!
I'm curious about Gamma Alpha myself. In the rush forum someone asked about the minority turnout this year and that got me wondering too. Weren't the big squirrels at UGA for recruitment this year?
For those who haven't gone through Recruitment yet, when will yours take place?
Delta Sigma's recruitment starts on September 10th.

GA got 36 (double last year). Quota was 50. So everyone (including Big Squirrels) were escatic.
Congratulations and bunches of roses to Gamma Alpha!!

We Rush in the Year 2002
Hey, squirrels and BIG squirrels... Theta Upsilon doesn't rush till the Spring of each year (or really the winter because it is in January) but I have been looking at all the new Freshmen girls this year. We start classes tomorrow and also have first meeting so WE will get to show off our cool badges. I feel really good about the year to come for us here at Georgetown. We are going on 2 years now (August 10 is our 2nd birthday) and everything is falling into place. We now have a great chapter house and it is looking really great, along with a new chapter room (first meeting in it is tomorrow!!) Along with the fact that most girls in other GLOs, who remember life before us are gone. So hopes are really high. I ask that you pray (or think about us) in the fact that we have Tee-up-for-a-cure golf thing September 22, which doesn't leave us a lot of time.
Good Luck everyone who still has to go throught the Rush week. Sarah, I have faith that you will get those 10 girls and it truly is Quality and not Quanity that makes and brakes a chapter.
Loyally in,
Arin Co
