Leslie, I found the Quarterly on e-bay. The seller had a buy-it-now option, so I snapped it up. I knew I had to have it, so I didn't think twice about buying it as soon as I saw it (even if it was $30...ouch! )

Another interesting factoid: the Alpha Gamma Delta Hymn is not an original song. Rather, it was revised from a song written for the local sorority Zeta Epsilon, which became our Gamma chapter in 1906.

Hmmm, maybe I should start a new thread and post one new factoid a day? What do you girls think?

I say do it! The more we know, the better! I seriously doubt that anyone in my chapter would know half the things I learn here...

It is a running joke at my chapter that if you need to know anything about AGD you come to me. Is this the same at anyone elses chapter for themselves?

Well, being that I'm the designated Internet junkie for my chapter... people also tend to come to me for information. They say that I come in handy when it's time for the NMs to take their tests.

When did AGD become incorporated?

I don't know that answer but looking at the Burr Patt website made me think....

Wasn't the "double rose" as in necklace, charm, etc. initally called the "rosedrop"??

Or does my memory seemed to have dropped?

Practicing for convention

I thought rosedrop was one of those terms like "big or little sister" that some chapters have adopted. They are not correct-but they are descriptive.

More fun facts... the Hymn actually has a third verse- you can find it in old songbooks. I have no idea why they dropped it- but maybe they used to do more singing in the "olden days."
