Road Runner Cable modem. I don't know exactly in numbers how fast it is but it usually takes me less than a minute to download a song off of Kazaa.

We get T1 on campus, but since the University put up the firewalls we can't download anything

Yeah, it does.

I have a 56K dial up at home -- and it generally connects at 50K plus. In our old house with older phone facilities and a longer distance from the TelCo's Central Office, it seldom connected at more than about 33K.

At work I have a T-1, which is much better.

In a previous job, I had a cable modem, which was, by far, the fastest -- but went down whenever the cable went out.

Does anyone here have Verizon DSL or Comcast High Speed Internet? These are the only options in my area and I don't know which provider to choose....

I have Comcast. Nice and fast I chose cable modem over DSL because DSL wasn't being offered at the time.

It was a happy day when I called AOL to cancel my dialup service

My parents have Comcast High Speed at home, and it works very well for them. It provides faster than 56.6! Go with Comcast.

I'm rocking a blazing fast 56K dialup connection here - woo! Oh well, considering I'm borrowing it from my boyfriend's parents, I can't complain (because its free!)

I had AT&T Broadband cable modem service, but they recently got bought out by Comcast. Really, nothing has changed except to whom I write the check.

I love my cable modem!

I have Comcast too. It's great. Once my cable modem kinda freaked out and I had to call customer service to figure out how to reset it. It's definitely a good deal, and I don't know enuf about DSL to judge, but I heard it's usually more expensive. If any of you poor unfortunate people have Charter, I pity you. My parents have that back home and it royally sucks!!!
