suchacutie,
First, let me say what a fabulous nickname you have...I love it.
Secondly, thanks for the compliments on the Middle Tennessee Chapter, I've only heard wonderful things about them myself.
I also want to encourage you to absolutely go through recruitment on your campus. Rush is definitely an experience not to be missed! It affords you a look at all the various sisterhoods on your campus, which is invaluable, and can be really exciting.
In terms of "tips" my advice is always to keep an open mind during the recruitment week, look for where you could see yourself building friendships with the women you meet and very importantly where you can see yourself making a significant contribution to the health of the sisterhood.
I think its important to keep in mind that a collegiate sorority experience affords women tremdous opportunity to hone their management and leadership skills at a young age and in a supportive environment, so don't discount this when choosing a chapter to call your home. Consider the chapter's philanthropic commitment, their activities, their commitment to their community and campus; if they are an active chapter there will be tons of chances to get involved! However, don't discount a chapter with whom you click on a personal level, but don't seem to be the "Greek Week winners" every year, sometimes you can make an even bigger impact on a chapter like this, and can obtain a position of responsiblity your first or second year as a sister.
Of course, on an even more practical level; start shopping for attractive but comfortable shoes now, blisters during rush are a killer.
You may also want to post on the Main Rush forum and get input from lots of NPC actives and alumni, they will all be happy to share their recruitment experiences with you. In addition, since I am from the Northeast, I think the "Southern Rush" experience is one best addressed from the women who have gone through it themselves!
Best of luck suchacutie, keep posting and reading, this is such a wonderful place to get information about Greek Life.
And again, it warms my heart to hear such nice things about the ADPis on your campus, on behalf of the other ADPis on this board I thank you for your kind words.
