Dreams...????

Is anyone good at interpreting dreams? I keep having dreams about planes crashing in an attack sort of way. They're always different dreams, but the other night's freaked me out because it had something to do with me knowing who sent planes into the WTC, knowing that they were planning to send more plans into other buildings around the country (mostly near my home), watching myself being hung by a see-through cord while (sorry) my blood ran through there, but I wasn't really hanging myself, and playing soccer, which I don't know how to play.

Seriously, for the last few months I've dreamt of planes crashing near me but I always seem to get away from them.

This is weird, because I have had dreams of crashing planes too. I think it must just be something to do with 9/11.

As for being hung by a cord, that is freaky! Not sure what that one means, lol.

All I know is that dreams in general are your brain's way of working out stress and filing stuff away.

At least you can remember your dreams! I am a little frustrated when I know I dreamt something that I should remember but I can't.

Oh well, sorry I am not very helpful, lol.

It seems like you are under a lot of stress. Hey, who isn't? You are completely out of control of the situation and feel very afraid. Your dreams reflect this. Maybe soccer is a way that you can actually be in control of something. Sports can be a great way to de-stress so maybe you should try that.

I've been having the "falling dream" a lot lately. God I hate that feeling and violently waking up right before I "make cherry pie" on the ground.

Does anyone know what causes "the falling feeling" in a dream?

I don't know if that'll work.....

I tried Phenoplex a few months back and ended up having dreams about these two chicks I regularly nailed back in High School. I remember waking up in a sweat and thinking, " WTF's going on here."

My information might not be the most up-to-date, but I think the general consensus is that dreams are pretty much just random accompanyments to thoughts naturally occuring during sleep.

As such, no real meaning can be assigned - ie "falling dream" doesn't equal "sexually frustrated" or anything like that

while i agree somewhat with Ksig RC about there not being exact meanings for specific dreams, i have heard that free falling in a dream can represent either something you wish to control but it's beyond you or failure or somesort... could be a test you messed up on. Look online or something. Falling/flying/being naked/etc/etc all tend to be common topics on dream interpretation sites.

I dream that I was in line at the local McDonald for 12 hours. Woke up with munchies.

I know a little. Do you dream in color?

Houses/home represents YOU or some aspect of your life.
Do you feel like something is working against you? Or as another post said you don't have control over something in your life?
If you feel you know WHO is doing the attacking, you may be trying very hard to figure it out and it is right there on the edge.

The choking can be taken several ways, but in the context of you being in your home, it again indicates something is "choking" you
so think of cliches that relate to scenes in your dreams. An example would be a person with money problems dreaming of drowning in an ocean next to an expensive cruiser or such. (Drowning in a sea of debt.)

I can't remember what planes represent, but they have GOT to be important. The fact that someone else is flying them instead of you means again, you are not in control.
OK-got my dream book out for you- I'll quote-
An attacking aircraft-feelng attacked either by our own doubts or self criticism, or that of others.
blood-being hurt such as hurtful remarks, being told we are not loved-can sap our motive to live.
choke-Conflict-indecision-as when we choke on our words; repression of emotion.

Weird. I've been having lots of plane crashing dreams lately, too. They started about 4-5 months ago. I actually had another one last night. I'm always about 5-10 feet away from the plane that crashes, but nothing ever happens to me. It really freaks me out because I live near an air force base and so I constantly have planes flying over me.

OMG! I live like 10 minutes from Metro Detroit Airport, but I doubt that has anythihng to do with it. But seriously my dreams are always that I'm close to the crashes but nothing happends to me!

I am not sure about the direct content of dreams having direct meaning. Flying equals sex. Chewing ice is supposed to be indicative of sexual frustration but I'll chomp away on after the third encounter in an evening . . .

Anway. The emotions you feel in your dreams and how you cope with them are probably more important. If you feal fear and unease and "run" to escape etc . . . but it might be a safety valve also . . getting rid of excess tension. I haven't gone out of my way to study dreams since about age 8, I am not sure I fully understood the texts at the time.

Here is a quote off the net:
Quote:
Some people believe that dreams are messages from the unconscious mind and should not be consciously altered. Modern research on dreaming, discussed further in chapter 5 of EWLD, suggests that dreams are not messages, but models of the world. While awake, sensory and perceptual information governs our model. While dreaming, our bodies are paralyzed and our brain builds a world model based on a secondary source; namely, our assumptions, motivations, and expectations. These biases are difficult to identify while awake, so a world based entirely on such biases, the world of dreams, can help us to recognize them. Thus, dreams are not messages, but are more like clues into the inner workings of our minds. The conscious and critical awareness that accompanies lucid dreams allows dreamers to thoughtfully interpret their dreams while they happen.
