Its probably a 7-hour drive, but Gatlinburg, Tenn. is fun. You can rent a cabin in the mountains, do some outlet shopping, go to dollywood, and there are a gazillion road side thrill ride/bungee jumping places. And the Smokeys are really pretty. And it might not be too expensive.

Other than that you can always go visit a college town/ beach town in North Carolina. Anywhere there are college kids, there has to be fun bars or parties and things to do.

Keep us posted to what you decide !!!

How about a beach house? One of my best friends had her Bday party at her parent's beach house and we all had the most amazing time!

Or if there is no beach house -- how about just to the beach? It's always fun to build a bonfire, hangout, play some music and have fun!!!

I would give a solid vote *against* Gatlinburg. We went there over Christmas, and it was like Hallmark meets Deliverance, with lots of airbrush t-shirt shops. It was super-crowded with all these church groups, and everything there to do is hilbilly-rific.

The smokies are really pretty, but that's about the only thing the place has going for it.

Well I can give my friend a call but she lives in texas -- don't know if that would be too long of a trip for ya

Seriously though, I would check out maybe websites from around your area? Usually you'll find a company that owns a number of beach houses and they will rent them out. ? Or maybe drive around and see which ones are out there?

Not sure how far this distance is, but Pigeon Forge in Tennessee is also fun for a weekend trip. Also Lake Lure in North Carolina mountains has nice houses. And can't forget Myrtle Beach... there are some wonderful houses in Cherry Grove.

I think that you should go to Las Vegas for the weekend.
