NCAA Basketball 2002/2003

Well, seeing as the basketball season has started, figured I'd start a NCAA basketball thread.

My boys at UConn are in the top 10 (yes, I know I go to BU, but I've been a UConn basketball fan all my life). Ben Gordon and Emeka Okafor have been playing great, and the two freshman (Dedham Brown and Rashad Anderson) have started off really well. Yeah, they havent' played top competition yet, but they still look pretty good...playing Oklahoma on January 7th will be a good test.

How about Arizona and Indiana losing tonight? A couple of big upsets.

What's everyone else's thoughts thus far?

Collin

What's good is that a loss doesn't have the same impact as it does in Football. Doesn't matter if you're ranked #1 the whole season, once u get to the dance some Cinderella will get you. So Arizona losing wasn't that big of a deal.

SDSU is in good shape right now and that's all that matters to me.

Well, Duke was my team in HS so to speak, so go blue devils!

Many thanks to the LSU Tigers for taking care of Arizona and clearing the path for my number three Pitt Panthers to creep up in the rankings!

KSigKid- the Pitt-UConn game is going to be awesome. I HAVE to find someway to get tickets. Student tickets are hard to come by here, my brother has season tickets, I might have to resort to scalpers or something.

I'm so happy that Pitt's team came out of nowhere last year to make it to the sweet 16, and is now #3 in the polls (who knows? maybe they'll move up in the new polls).

Bring on the Big East play!

I enjoy college basketball but usually not until confrerence play starts. A lot of games in November and December are meaningless. Arizona is still the best team in the country and will prove it in march. I never thought I would see the day where Alabama and Pittsburg would be ranked in the top 3. That says something right there.

Arizona will win the national championship this year. I don't see any other team that could beat them, especially Duke.

You're right..that's going to be one hell of a game. The games between the two teams were good last year as well.

I can't wait to see UConn play Carmelo Anthony as well - he's put up outstanding numbers against some weak competition so far, but the kid can definitely play.

Big 12

I've been pretty disappointed so far with Big 12 play. Last year they were great. Made up 4 of the Big 8 and 2 of the Final 4. I don't see a repeat of that. Kansas is sliding.. Texas is overrated and even Oklahoma is slipping (had the season opener loss to Bama). Maybe it'll be a different picture at the end of the season.
