Beer is actually good for you
BEER HELPS YOU ‘BONE' UP: STUDY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
NY Post
October 21, 2002 -- This Bud's for you - and your bones.
That's the word from scientists who say a glass of beer a day helps young women and men maintain strong and healthy bones.
They found an individual's intake of silicon, a mineral absorbed from the soil by plants and most especially by cereals such a wheat and barley, is directly linked to bone strength. And beer is one of the richest sources of silicon.Bill Hoffmann

I couldn't have said it better myslef.
I think.
Actually, I seem to recall hearing somewhere in the distant past that some study or other found a couple of beers a day helps lessen the chance of heart attack -- or stroke. Or maybe it was terminal acne.
There are just too many damned studies.
In the final analysis, the single biggest cause of death anywhere in the world, in all ages, both sexes and all ethnic groups --
Is life.
Think about that and have a good weekend.

DeltAlum is correct, there have been quite a few studies to suggest that one or two beers a day are good for you...this has been around for awhile.

My cousin tells me (and I still think she's making this up) that beer contains a chemical that is very close to some female hormone. It actually causes men to grow man boobs over time..
Funny if nothing else

Chronic alcohol abuse can cause liver damage which in turns leads to impaired metabolism of estrogen. In men this excess estrogen leads to feminization of secondary sexual characteristics, namely testicular atrophy and gynecomastia (development of female-like breast tissue).

LOL
I could figure out the first one... but wouldn't have been so sure about the second. I think I'll pass this on to my fraternity friends and see if it affects the amount of beer they drink... probably not but it should get at least half a brain cell to function and maybe a good laugh

My 37 year old husband recently visited a cardiologist because he is concerned about his family history of massive heart attacks (father just died of one at age of 69, uncle died of one on the golf course at 40 something...) He came back from the doctor's visit with 2 6 packs of beer and told me the cardiologist suggested it. I said yeah right I guess I owe hubby an apology!:
