The "sidekick" sniper
If it turns out to be them, what should they do to the 17 year old as a punishment?

And what state will he be tried in? I was wondering if those states have the "juvenile can be tried as an adult and given the death penalty" clause.......

I'm asking for opinions (what you think), out of curiousity.

I think that they will try to give him the absolute maximum penalty that they can, either as a juvy or they may try to get him tried as an adult. I think that at 17 you know better than to go around picking off innocent people, and I personally believe he should be tried as an adult, but I'm unsure as to the death penalty because I have mixed feelings about it. But definitely don't let him get off easy.

I think 17 is too young to kill someone. If tried in VA he will probably die though.

Capital punishment was made for folks just like this. The current choices on the table are D.C. which has no death penalty, Virginia which does lethal injection and Maryland that has the gas chamber. I say send them wherever it hurts the most.

Yep.. I think this person (if he is guilty of course) should definately be tried as an adult and get the max penalty. Even if he is "too young" to kill.. if he is guilty of doing it, I think they should treat him the same as they would anyone else who did something terrible like this.
On a sidenote, I thought gas chamber was "cruel and unusual" punishment

It was them because the gun matched up. I say give them the max no matter what state they are tried.

Well I'm voting Virginia... Maryland is currently under a death penalty moritorium by the Gov. They've only executed 3 people since the late 70's... Virginia's somewhere in the 80's or 90's.
And I'm going to go out on a limb and say that for these two there is no such thing is cruel and unusual.
We should do as the bible teaches...
Stone 'em.

actually, aren't they also being linked to a robbery/murder in alabama that pre-dates the sniper attacks? if so wouldn't they be tried/sentenced in alabama first?
okay..just read it on cnn..they are having capital murder warrants issued for both of the men and the 17 year old WILL be tried as an adult.

Quick update....the State of Alabama will seek the death penalty if these jokers are tried and found guilty of the liquor store robbery in Montgomery. My aunt used to live blocks away from the scene of the crime and to think that it could have been her makes me want to take these guys out myself. It's kinda scary to think that such a heinous killer was so close.

I'm saying put them infront of a firing squad...let the punishment fit the crime!

We should make him watch Fried Green Tomatoes, Beaches, and the Ya Ya Sisterhood until he becomes more sensitive.
