Have anyone ever felt guilty for turning in another frat or soror?

Hi I am the Panhellenic Risk Management chair. I have to turn in one of my favority fraternities because they did not follow the rules. I just feel a little guilty but there always getting into trouble each semester and still have not learned there lesson, so I guess I have do what I have to do. The good thing is that IFC/Panhellenic keep your name secret and they do the investigating on the matter. My question is have any one ever felt guilty for turning in another sorority or fraternity for not following the IFC/Panhellenic alcohol policy rules?

Why should you feel guilty? They are the ones breaking the rules.

If you don't think the rules are fair then you should try to change them. If they don't agree with the rule it is irresponsible to just break them... Try to change them.

In college we are supposed to act as adults, not kids. No one should be above the rules.

Not really,

If they if they go out of their way to violate the rules... then they desreve waht they get because they make us all look bad.

However, I call it on a case by case, as attidutes towards drinking are very different north of the border.

Never.....I guess I'm kinda mean, but I relished in it.

Just a side note: They were big infractions that I turned them in for. Nothing petty. Maybe it is unethical, but I wouldn't turn someone in for a rule that I didn't agree with at all. I figure that if you are stupid enough to do something really bad, you need to be called on it.

MOX, If the Fraternity whether it be Mine or anyone elses, Violates the rules then it is wrong!

We as Upstanding Greek Organizations try to project a personna!

We catch enough heat beacuse of stupidiy and it reflects upon all of us as Greeks!

There are more people looking at us from the outside then the inside!

If they did something wrong, and it is not punished, what will the campus think along with the Educators?!

I would notify them, give them a chance and if they fight you on it, that is their fault not yours!

Do what is best for your campus!

IT depends on the rule.

Many systems follow only the 11th commandment:

Thou Shalt Not Get Caught.

So often times a single group will get in trouble for doing what everyone is doing.

Sometimes its a matter of degree, they are more extreme in their violations than others.

Most of the time though: they just got unlucky once or a couple times and developed a reputation.

After they have developed a reputation they are under more scrutiny and are more likely to get busted than other groups.

Interestingly, these groups tend to be the more popular ones on campus which invites the jealousy attack.

But even people that are party to breaking rules of their own, get to feel good about themselves for turning other groups in . . it creates a very negative environment.

But whatever turns you on.

I am not jealous. I really do like these guys. It's that they did not follow the rules. A couple a week ago another fraternity got in trouble for the same thing this frat got in trouble for (and no I did not turn those guys in either, they just got busted by IFC). To make it even worse I am kind of seeing one of the guys in the fraternity that I turned in. So that's why I'm feeling a little guilty because I don't want the guy I like to be mad at me.
