Patriotic

On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being not at all and 10 being very much so, how patriotic do you think you are?

About a 6 for me

It's a situational thing for me. I'm usually somewhere between a 5 and a 6. Today I'm putting a US Flag up in my window; I'm the only American living in my building.

Being the military brat I am, I average an 8. Today a 10. I am so thankful that I live in a country where I am free to do, to worship, to believe as I choose. Yes, we have a LOT of things wrong with our country, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

"I'm proud to be an American...at least I know I'm free...?"

I am usually about a 5-6: I come from a Grandfather, Father and Mother and a very good friend who spent collectively 61 years in the Air Force, so I respect the Armed Forces and those who serve in them. I also appreciate being an American, and wouldn't trade it for the world. By the same token, I am cognizant of an America that was built upon slave labor (we're talking about only 5 generations removed from me folks) and concept manifest destiny, of an America where people are still separate and UNEQUAL, so it tempers in me the blind patrotic fervor others may feel.

Thumbs down

I'm not at all patriotic. On the radio last night this woman said she named her daughter America because she was born on 9/11/01.
