Sorry. but what I meant. Are the process the same in how many people can be picked, the way their picked and so on.. the same in faternities, specifically black fraternities because that what I'm interested in but I didn't what to put anything about race in it because I didn't want it to sound racist or something.

that's better unfortunately, I have no idea how anything other than NPC rush is done. however, i do believe it is VERY different than NPC. Maybe some members of BGLO's will help you out. Good luck

I'm not involved w/ the NPHC, but my suggestion would be to seek out members of those organizations at your school or attend an interst meeting. The advice I've seen on greekchat has been to get involved with the community service that the group of your choice is involved it, and meet some of the members that way. You'll know what you need to know when you need to know it. NPHC-ers, correct me if I'm wrong, please. There're also individual forums, NPHC included, you can look on those boards for the answers you want. Just click "directory" at the top on the screen & find the name you want. Good luck
Heidi

Unknownflava,

If you check the Forum Announcements at the top of the forum's main page you will find some information to assist you in your quest. It applies to both NPHC Fraternities and Sororities.

Barbara

I myself am not greek but i am interested on pledging so I have been doing some research. The topics mentioned greekchat.com are no where close to what I have heard about pledging for BGLO's, at least where I go to school (which is in the ATL). I'm not sure if it's because we don't have houses or if it's because they are BGLO's.

The first thing I recommend you doing is researching the particular fraternity you're interested in, if you're not sure what that is check out the book - The Divine Nine by Lawerence C. Ross, Jr. You should check this book out regardless though, because it has all nine of the African-American sororities and fraternities. The next thing I recommend is community service - I've noticed that many of the frat/sor are BIG on community service. Remember that joining a BGLO is a lifetime commitment. Oh yeah, I could be wrong but I know for the sorority that I am interested in, you need a recommendation from a financially active member. Um, I can't think of anything else right now but if you have any other questions just ask. I don't know if I'll be able to answer it but I could at least give you some ideas on where to look.

Hope everything works out for the best and let me know how everything turns out for you.
