Are these great clothes for rush?
Last year I rushed my school's sororities and ended up not getting in, and it's probably for the best. I had a change of heart going through freshman year. Ever since I was rejected though, I kept thinking about rush for this year.
My mother and I did some extensive rush shopping, and I'd like to know what your alls thoughts are about my choices.
For informative nights I have:
1. a little blue Banana Republic shirt, and a khaki skirt with a little slit in the front.
2. a light yellow skirt with very small purplish flowers, and a purple shirt from Laura Ashley
Invitiational:
a black dress that goes to my knees that is verrryyy light weight and has a dark redish flower (kind of hard to explain) and the back has the extra fabric to make it look neat
Pref:
basic black dress to knees with the extra fabric in the front thing
will I look cute???
my rush starts Thursday and I'll be sure to post my experiance!

Focus on YOU
No offense, but I would worry more about making an impression about who YOU ARE instead of your outfit. That's what rush is all about, about letting a chapter know who YOU and you learning about them. If we all focused on outside appearances, then would we all join the right chapters?
This is coming from someone's who has been on both sides, and as someone who has chosen girls, we've always looked at who she is and her ability to be a sister rather than her outfit.

I think you will look wonderful. Remember that first impressions are very significant, and that your conversation needs to be as good as your clothes.
Read some of the past rush threads about questions to ask, and research all of the national websites for the organizations at your school. We love it when PNMs are already informed about us
Above all, Good Luck and be sure and post your experiences for all of us addicts

The clothes are important as far as enabling you to feel confident in your appearance so that you can focus on letting your true self shine through. The clothes you described sound great! Have a great time going through recruitment!

ToBeSorority! Welcome to GC. I think you just asked the number 1 question of all time! "What should I wear?" Well, it sounds like you have it down to a "T". What you described sounds great!
Good luck and keep in touch!

Jen, I absolutely agree, but personally, as a college freshman facing rush with no clue about ANYTHING, we need all the help we can get! (Although I realize the original poster is not a freshman.) I really appreciate the advice regarding all matters of rush, from clothes to conversational tips.
To the original poster, I think your outfits sound really wonderful, and I wish you the best of luck! I'm not at school yet (move in next month) but I'm just as nervous as you are about rush already. Again, good luck and have a great time!
XOXO,
Annie.

Your clothes sound absolutely great! While it's true that's it's YOU and not your clothes that really matter, I personally always feel more confident when I'm dressed nicely and like how I look. Best of luck...you'll be great!
