Question Urban Legends

I was reading the thread in the Famous Greeks? section and there actually was a lot of discussion concerning the Neil Armstrong great debate.

To fill everyone in:

Neil Armstrong of course is most famous for being the first man to walk on the moon. He is an initiated member of Phi Delta Theta at Purdue University in Indiana.

The urban legend/story goes:

That Bro. Armstrong carried a Phi Delt Badge and his wife's sorority badge (there was debate on the other thread if his wife is a Theta or an Alpha Chi...I've always heard she is an Alpha Chi) onto the moon and left them on the surface of the moon.

I have never had the opportunity to meet Bro. Armstrong, but I have witnessed with my own eyes at the Phi Delt GHQ Meuseum the badge and a small Phi Delt flag (like the USA flags worn on the space suits sleeves) on display. With them is a letter signed, and dated by Bro. Armstrong stating that this is the badge and the flag carried with him to the surface of the moon during the Apollo moon mission on that date, with his own signature.

So, whether or not anything was left I don't know....but the question that came to me was this:

What are other organizations Urban Legends? It can be regarding unconfirmed "famous" people being members of your organization, or any other intersting fact that may be proven, or have been changed over the years through oral history.

Looking forward to everyone's posts!

The movie Steel Magnolias was based on a Phi Mu named Susan Harling (KI). In one scene (right after the wedding) you can see a composite picture and a paddle. In the same scene Sally Fields helps Julia Roberts put a Phi Mu badge on. There is also a rumor that Julia Roberts is wearing a Phi Mu badge on her wedding dress, but I have never seen it there.
