Legacy Question

I know that three of our current members are legacies and that one will be going through rush in a few weeks. What is SA's policy on legacies?

Hi Allie,

No National policy on legacies. (For those of you younger chapters, that's someone whose mother, sister, etc. is also a Sigma Alpha). We see it most often with sisters (related sisters!), of course, since we're not old enough to have many mothers with college age children yet!

My personal advice would be to give this prospective member every fair consideration. If you have more specific questions, please give a shout out to your National Board contact.

Thanks for the info Beth, as you can tell I'm FULL of questions as rush comes around the corner.

My big is a legacy and so is one other active member. The reason why I asked is we will have one going through rush this semester!

*Note to self* Find out who our national rep is
