Rush, philanthropy or other information, and fees vary from sorority to sorority. My advices is to ask girls from each sorority that you might think of joining on your campus. Hazing information is going to be the same because it's illegal. For instance, rush themes and so forth will be different based on what philanthropy or activities that the particular sorority is a part of. Fees also vary. Usually fees include your badge (or sorority pin) and a "new member" fee. It also may include extras that are part of each sororities traditions. Badges are different for each sorority, so the price of each would be different. Sororities usually can cost anywhere between 200-600 dollars (at least that was the round about prices when I was in school) for you first semester, but don't let fees get in the way of joining, most sororities will work out payment plans for you. Check out the sororities on your campus and pump them for info. Fees can vary from chapter to chapter as well. One chapter of my sorority at a different school might have different fees than the chapter at my school. The reason for the difference in fees from chapter to chapter might be because of the number of members. One sorority with 50 members might have lower fees than a chapter with 30 members. There are many factors to the fee question. Take advantage of informal or formal rush and check out the pros and cons of each sorority at your school. That would be your best bet.

To whom it may concern, I am currently thinking about joining a sorority, but have doubts about joining. I was wondering could someone give me some information about rush, hazing, and joing fees for sororities. I would be most thankful.

I'm a Phi Sig at Towson and just became the new Rush Chair. In the past, our spring rush has been small and unsuccessful. I would appreciate any advice, info, and ideas that you may have. Thanks!
