We can't answer that question. We don't do membership selection at UT - or any other school. The questions are: what are your grades like? Activities? Do you have recs - at least 2 - for every chapter? Will you keep an open mind? I'm assuming here that you are talking NPC not NPHC
I Will be a returning sophmore in the fall. I didn't rush at the beginning of my freshman year because I was unsure about how I felt about Greek life. Should I rush in the fall, or would it simply be a wasted effort?
Have you made friends with any sorority women on campus in the past year? As a sophomore, it will be really important to have friends in sororities pulling for you.
If your GPA is only "good" after one semester, you're probably in for being released from a lot of groups. UT can be very competitive for upperclassmen. So if it isn't 3.5 by then and you haven't cultivated these girls you know, I'd say you are in for a lot of disappointment. And don't forget the recs and letters of support. You need at least 2 for each chapter there. In other words, what do you have to offer the groups that most other upperclass women DON'T have????
And before you go through recruitment, try to think more about who you are. Don't define yourself with such limited words. I'm sure there is more to you that a sorority could benefit from and you could be all the more better by sharing. Are you funny? Smart? Artsy? Loyal? Giving? Organized?
Whether you go through recruitment or not - be kind to yourself!
