The Superstars are better than The Dancing Dolls.
The Dancing Dolls won the competition because The Superstars fell when building the "house".
The Dancing Dolls' Grace Jones skit was funny and cute.
I wonder if some of these Black women (dance instructors) are Deltas.

I can't listen to what Ms. D says because of her teeth. They KILL me. I don't think my body could EVER move like this, but I love the dancing

Same here. I hate when they show her talking close up. Like a horse.
When she was talking to the coach from The Superstars (with the colorful high top fade), they both looked like horses.

Last night I watched a rerun of the episode with the guest hip hop choreographers. I didn't see the hype over them...but whatever.
What made me roll my eyes is they and Ms. D kept saying "you can be girly later!!! We need you to be hardcore hip hop for this!!! Dance like a man!!!"
Uh...I didn't see anything "gangsta" about those dance moves even when the choreographer was doing them. And there are plenty of women dancers who can handle those moves and THEN SOME.
I wanted them to stop marginalizing girlhood as though it is weak and inadequate. These girls can be hardcore at the same time as being girls. It isn't either/or.
It made me think of the "Like a Girl" commercials.

I watch it for entertainment; I don't look at anyone on that show with a critical eye - because never in my entire life could I make a hip pop. Ever. Or do any of those other moves, for that matter. Strong athletes, IMO. I enjoy the passion, the enthusiasm, the energy, the support from the audience/parents.
Sometimes all the yelling is annoying but it isn't any different than my Italian family getting into it at Sunday dinner, so I feel like I'm right at home in all that yelling. They don't come to fisticuffs, they just yell and wave their arms around. *shrug* I'm good with that. I remind myself that the show is heavily edited, too.
Kayla is my favorite and I will miss her when she graduates and goes on to college.

Yeah I like her.
I wonder if she will get her own show when she goes to college. Maybe she will be a dancer at an HBCU. Ohhhh I would watch that show! Seeing Kayla transition and find her place while partaking in the battle between cheerleaders, campus dancers, and step teams (GLO and GDI teams). That would be a good show. Reality version of Drumline and Stomp the Yard.

Some of of Kayla's gestures and expressions absolutely slay me. My favorite is when she makes the talking gesture with her hand out the side of her neck while subtly rolling her eyes or cutting her eyes to the side. And when she's watching the other team during stand battle, that's fun to watch. Nothing gets by her. She's very poised and mature. I wish her much success in life.

This show has opened a lot of doors for the kids (much like Dance Moms did for those girls.)
I saw on instagram that Kayla, Sunjai/her siblings, and Kamryn travel the country doing majorette camps, judging comps, being guest choreographers, etc. I'm sure that's awesome for them.
