I can't get too upset at this dude, because I have the feeling the only boobs he ever touches are with his avatar in World of Warcraft.

You know, it's been 25 years since I attended a frat party. Sadly, these "techniques" aren't new. Obvious and sleazy? Yes. As old as alcohol and frat houses? Yes.
I'm happy that people are (appropriately) appalled by this. The fact that it's been going on forever doesn't mean it should be tolerated just because we write off frat guys as douchebags and leave it at that. We can expect better.
Another bit of good news is the guys who are this piggish are also stupid enough to not know to be discreet. That way they can be more easily outted. I hope the girls at GT are savvy enough to cut these losers off cold. And the innocent guys who are not pigs? They can handle their PR in a way befitting gentlemen. And I would imagine a lightning fast trip to their Standards board and an even faster termination of membership.

The email didn't promote rape by force. The email did list the steps to complete date rape with premeditation.
One cannot consent to sex if one is intoxicated. The level of intoxication where on loses the ability to consent is a grey area. This is why people should not have sex with drunk random hook ups. It is a very dangerous area. It is one thing to have a friends with benefits scenario who pops over after a drunken night out for some fun as there is usually familiarity gained when sober to know when a boundary has been crossed. It is a whole other ball of wax when you (general) keep supplying drinks to a person with the intention of getting them too drunk to rebuff sexual advances.
The email described plying a person with alcohol and keeping them distracted so they don't know how much they have drank. The email suggest boundary pushing tasks to test the intoxication of the person with grinding one’s penis on the person, kiss on the cheek, kiss on the neck, full on making out. There are more suggestions of plying with more alcohol until the person is agreeable to the intimate contact. Just because physical force was not used does not mean rape did not happen. In addition, the author is trying to groom the others to be like him.: “Hey, I am cool. If you want to be like me, this is totally acceptable/normal behaviour.” The email was disturbing on many levels.

Or a brother forwarded it to a friend because he thought it was funny. It only takes one . . . .

Apparently, the school has been investigating it since Sept. 18. It wasn't until Monday that the email went viral on the internet. I wonder what took so long. It also makes me wonder if someone within the university's disciplinary committee leaked the email.

I'm not saying what he wrote is okay. But if you have a problem with something your brother did, you deal with it internally and not share it with the world. We are suppose to have our brother's back, and help him see the wrong and make him a better person afterwards. I'm just saying showing it to non-brothers is very unbrotherly. Maybe some of us take our oaths a little too seriously...

I agree with you. I felt the same about the cunt-punt girl from Maryland. What a shitty thing to do to your chapter brother/sister when it could have been called out and handled internally.

I don't particularly like continuing this topic because I think the attention has negatively impacted the school and that greek system, however, the writer of the letter made a personal apology.

It feels like his attorney wrote, and he just signed it.

The fact that he blames it on his nickname tells me that he STILL doesn't get it.
