What to wear to recruitment
Well I bought a dress to wear for preference day but I'm not sure if it's appropriate. It's lace and chiffon and here's a picture. Any advice would be awesome!

It depends what campus you are attending. At some schools this would be fine. At others this would be very underdressed.

Greek life at my school isn't too big, there's only 300 girls rushing. But they do say to wear a nice dress and heels.

Looks a little casual to me, but as was shared above, I don't know your school.

I wouldn't consider that a "nice" dress. It's casual. A "nice" dress to me means something you would wear to a "grown up" ocassion - a banquet, wedding, baptism, etc. This looks like something you'd wear to a casual event...lecture, etc. Just my take on it.

I would ask your Pi Chi or a friend who is already in a sorority on your campus. At one school near me, it
looks similar to what is pictured in their recruitment guide. At the other school, it would be way too casual.

This looks like a t-shirt knit dress and therefore too casual. Also, the dress doesn't fit the model, which is not helping the look. Aim for something a bit darker, likely solid, and not stretchy. Those aren't absolutes, but it should be safe. I googled daytime cocktail dresses and found a lot of things that are closer to what you should be looking for.

White House Black Market is having their 60% off sale. It's a great place to get dresses that are cute yet classic enough to wear in the future. I suggest WHBM since you said your preference isn't cocktail dress attire but nice dress. There are some great choices under their dresses and skirts tab. There is a cute age appropriate red lace dress and several black and white options.

It looks both too short and too casual for pref. it is not flattering to that model, and that may be part of the problem.

I think I will buy a new dress and wear this an earlier day. Thanks everyone for the advice!
