Gifts to Chapter from Alumnae group

Ladies, I was wondering if your local alumnae groups give you gifts throughout the year and if so what kinds? I am president of a local alumnae chapter and want to start giving the local chapter gifts throughout the year to show our support but need some ideas. Thanks

Not sure what you mean by gifts. Are you talking making goodies or buying furniture? There is a big difference. Gifts for the house - furniture, cash for remodeling or wish list items, etc - most likely have to go thru the House Corp and be approved by them. Things like "happies" - cookies, pizzas, flowers, and individual gifts to the women would be best coordinated with the chapter's alumnae relations officer. You could also talk with the chapter adviser to see what they might need - snacks during recruitment, exam snacks/breaks, etc.

The local alumnae chapter gave us care packages around finals week. They'd lay out different kinds of food and we'd put what we wanted into a big Ziploc bag.

There is no chapter close to my alumnae association so we are unable to assist with treats for finals or during recruitment. We do fund raising through out the year no only to support our local philanthropy, but to make donations to 4 local chapters so that have funds toward either their new member retreat or for recruitment.

Phi Mu has "Heart to Heart" chapters, where an alum chapter is paired up with a collegiate chapter and sends little goodies throughout the year. I can't even really remember what we got as collegians...little notes before finals with some candy and stuff? I dunno, I don't think it did much to make us feel close to the alums. I think I'd start by asking what the goal is, and working backwards from there.
