				Pie!Pie!Pie! MissCherryPie's Recruitment Story

Recruitment starts for my school in a few weeks, and as others who have read my posts know, I'm a Junior Transfer in my late twenties.
Thought that I'd get a recruitment story started now.

My school has several NPC chapters, and several multicultural Sororities that I am interested in.

So, since this is mostly a NPC related forum, I'll stick to that aspect of my recruitment story.

I love pie, which is why my name here is what it is, so my code names for chapters are in honor of different varieties of pie:

 Blackberry
 Loganberry
 Cherry
 Apple
 Peach

I am really looking forward to recruitment.

 | Who said that this was mostly an NPC related forum? Many GreekChat members are members of multicultural fraternities or sororities. They just don't post about recruitment online.

So, I'll talk about the chapters at my new school.
Blackberry- Called the chapter with the prettiest ladies, classiest reputation and all around #1. I'd like to find out more.

Loganberry- When I first was reading up on the chapters present on campus, I was immediately impressed and wanted to get to know more about them.

Cherry- Some people talk of this chapter in a negative way, but I read their website carefully and found many things that I appreciated and thought were excellent. I'm very curious about this group. My friends who attend school here already think that this would be the chapter that I'd "fit into" the "best". I don't know about that....I want to see what they're all about before making my own decisions.

Apple- Don't know much about them, but would love to know more.

Peach- Just like Apple, I know very little. Their website gives the impression of them to be sensitive, intelligent and a very giving group of ladies. Sounds great to me.

 | Please keep us updated as your time/interest allows. Don't forget you may want to join a group where you feel comfortable and not just impressed (refers to bolded above).

Just warning y'all. I've been writing my recruitment story in Word, and it's already up to ELEVEN PAGES! Just giving some fair warning.
I'll post a few tidbits that are recruitment related, but I'm still trying to stay mostly anonymous:

I called my Mother yesterday morning and made a special request that was way, way out there: She has a gorgeous necklace that is very simple:

It’s a single natural pearl pendant, very small and dainty, surrounded by two thin interlocking loops of gold on a thin gold chain. I wanted to borrow it for pref, so I could wear it, and feel like I have a piece of my Mom with me on that special night.

To my shock and surprise, Mom offered to overnight it from out of state so that I could have it to wear for Pref. She also said that she was going to send her pearl studs.

You have to understand, my Mother does NOT lend out her jewelry, and this necklace is one of her very favorites, so for her to do this is a statement that she understands what Recruitment has meant to me, and that she is offering her best wishes and complete support.

I have missed my Mother terribly even though we have had our differences, and she has definitely turned her attitude around from what she said and did before recruitment began and we rehash recruitment every night on the phone and I tell her all about the stories and what I thought and did.

So, I’m mostly studying at the kitchen table and waiting for the mailman’s (or mailwoman’s) cheery knock on the door.

I'm searching my story as written for other funny or sweet instances.

Looking forward to your recruitment story. If you're at 11 pages, though, I suggest you edit it. No offense is intended; I just don't have the time to read such a long post and think some others who would like to read it are probably in the same boat.
 Good luck with pref!
