				 Someone help me out.

I'm looking into starting a fraternity. I don't even know where to begin. Can someone tell me who I would contact to even begin this process? I feel that fraternities have great potential if they were used as they were originally intended. I have read some of the charters. Such noble goals. Now, it seems that the system has greatly degenerated and many have lost the vision. I want to reintroduce it. Thank you.

This topic has been discussed a couple of times in the last few months...search through the archive and you'll find some direction on where to start.

I agree that some members of greek organizations do not take their founding principals as seriously as they should, however i do believe that most members are still hardworking and dedicated to those principals. Ultimately it is up to you in what you plan to do, but some advice from a greek who knows, i would encourage you to do more research into the greek organizations that are already out there instead of trying to start another one. It is very hard to believe that of all the organizations out there (and there are many great ones) that you could not find one that meets your particular qualifications. There is a greater need to support and rebuild the greek organizations that are already out there, we don't need another greek organization because believe me after the momentum dies down, you will find in your new group that ultimately individuals are the problem with greek life, not the organization and you will see the same problems revealing themselves in your new fraternity. Don't recreate the wheel repair it! Good Luck!

a great place to check out is fraternities international websites to get a feel for each of them, then check out their chapter websites at what college you plan to go to. for us its www.pikes.org. say if you were going to florida state, you go to fsupikes.com and click on "rush" and tell the chapter you are interested and want to know more about.

I also think this poster had one of the best names in GC history...for all you NHL fans out there, doesn't get much better than Stu Grimson.
