Others from UT can correct me, as I am not super sure. Don't pnms wear black on pref so a non-black classic lines cocktail dress would work for skit?

You are correct..PNM's wear black for pref night.
My daughter was told to wear something that is a little more "fun" on skit night. The dress she wore was from J-crew and was pretty colorful, yet classy.

Thank you for your reply. But what dress are you talking about? the one that Shirley liked? But among those I post, do you like something? Sorry to bother you with all these questions.
Ladybugmom and gee_ees, can you please give me more apecific details or if possible some pictures of what I can wear for skit night? It is the more difficult to find. Should it be classy, dressy or simple. It should be like the pref dress? or it can be colorful? Sorry for all these question.
Thank You

Skit night at UT is the most fun night, but also a little more dressy than the previous days. It is a little less dressy than Pref, which is a black coctail dress. If in doubt, go a little dressier than you would think.
I will keep looking, but I came across this dress at Nordstrom..if you put fun, colorful jewelry and some heels/wedges with it, it would work. Notice that it is silk..my daughter's dress was silk also..

I was talking about this one:
Skit or Pref - a little dressy for philanthropy?

It's cute, but many Panhellenic recruitment guides specifically tell you to avoid sequins and beading...so the neckline on that dress is problematic. Sequins and beading generally = dressy evening wear.

But do you think that UT Panhellenic ask us to avoid this kind of dress. It is so cute! And the beading is small. Please tell me that I can wear it
DarlingTexan do you know if this kind of dress is allowed at UT for skit night. I checked and I found nothing about that. I really like this dress but I am afraid to be cut or I don't know what because of the dress.

If you try this dress on and feel KILLER confident, even knowing you could walk into a room of girls wearing plain black dresses and will stick out like Big Bird at a worm ranch, then go for it. If you think there will be ANY second-guessing or "maybe this wasn't a good idea" thoughts, then DO.NOT.WEAR.IT.
Just my (Midwest, noncompetitive rush) opinion.

Yes you can wear it for skit! All that matters is that you love and feel confident in the dress. That is what the chapters are looking for.
If you don't wear black on pref night at Texas, you just look odd. It's not a good stand out kind of thing. It's a why didn't you get the memo kind of thing.

can I wear a floral dress a little bit like this one for skit night? http://www.google.com/imgres?start=2...r:37,s:26,i:15 I will put some heels and a small cardigan/vest. Or is it better to take something more classy, that means with no prints or flower?
thank you
