Whats your favorite LXA/TKN piece of memorabilia

Ok Guys,

Just curious, but what item do you own or have you seen that is from our fraternity that you thought was just really freaking cool, unique, or rare?

Here are a couple of my favorite items in my collection, they definitely made for some interesting reads!

Is the TKN ritual really like our AM ceremony, or are there some differences?

TKN ritual

The TKN ritual was explained at the Centennial. It does not resemble to AM ceremony much. There is a TKN robe on display at Indy and should you visit they will make a TKN ritual book available to you to read.

Part of the merger deal was that the TKN ritual would never be performed and we've kept that promise.

Good to know, hope to make a pilgrimage to Indy sometime soon.

From what I can remember off the top of my head, and without a cursory glance to double check, I believe Ritual What and Why gave a decent outline of what actually happened during the ritual. Last time i checked you could still find it online somewhere in a .PDF form from IHQs website. If not I did print a copy from the HQ .PDF and can scan and resend to any brothers who would like a peek at it.

So that means we are still able to reproduce the TKN ritual if we ever wanted to?

Interesting. I never knew that the TKN ritual has been forever sealed.

It was made by agreement in the merger. No, we cannot do a ritual out of respect to their Fratenrity.

There were some things incorporated into LXA Ritual and paraphanalia such as the C of A plus the new member pin. Just a few compulations between the two Fraternities.

BTW, the pledge pin on ebay was way over priced.

But it is also in the eye of the beholder.

I need to make it back to HQ in Indy. It's been almost 10 years since I was last there.

As far as own, I'm limited due to experience and only having been initiated in 2006. But as (one of) the nerdiest at our chapter (Pi-Lamba, STLCOP), I've been able to get my hands on a couple things of interest to me.
  • Purple, alumnus pyramid with crucicrescent embedded inside.
  • At a conclave a few years back, I won on a trivia team and received a hardcopy of a history of Lambda Chi, which was similar to "a Historical Prospective".
  • Autographs from several high ups during Centennial.
But for things I've seen in the fraternity, just most anything at Indy, including a painting or 3.

I'm rather fond of the ORIGINAL constitution, now under glass in the library at HQ - then again, I'm the one who found it in the mezzanine beneath the stairs one rainy August afternoon in 2005

I think the fez was a nice piece you triumphed on too. Ive been thinking about having one made like Jono's since I have one of those original large crucicrescent pins

Can't believe I didn't see this topic. Guess I should be on this board more!

There is an original TKN Pledge manual at the Main Library of the Cleveland Public Library system - http://cpl.bibliocommons.com/item/sh...uisque_vir_est.

I actually went to the library one day to check the book out (it is reference material, but I still took pictures!). It was interesting to see that Donald F. Lybarger was actually the Chief Justice of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas until his death!

Also, you can get a copy of The Expositor from Hamilton College - http://www.worldcat.org/title/exposi...=brief_results

I had it sent to my library through a request and looked at it. There are some REALLY interesting things in the book. A lot of it is completely irrelevant now, but it is a great history resource.
