SMU deferred recruitment?
Hi i'm a high school senior and i'm hoping to attend SMU after graduation. I am interested in being in a sorority.
I read this on the website:
http://smu.edu/fsl/joinPAN/PAN_schedule.asp
main website:
http://smu.edu/fsl/joinPAN/default.asp
now i'm totally bewildered. Is that when recruitment/rush is? I don't understand how it could be because it doesn't make sense for one to rush when they aren't even 100% sure they will be going to SMU.
I'm confused. Can anyone offer insight and clear my confusion up?
Thank you!

A woman cannot go through SMU recruitment until after she becomes a student. In your case, you would participate in next year's recruitment. The mandatory information sessions would be in the fall of 2012 and then formal recruitment begins in January 2013.

Deferred recruitement means you can't go through recruitement your first semester, so you wait until spring of your freshman year. So, they'd be second semester freshmen at SMU going through. At least that's the way it's done around here. Idea being it allows girls to get adjusted to school before entering into the decision to join a sorority (among other reasons).

Thank you! I appreciate your answer! I was reading through a few old threads and was beginning to come to the conclusion that it was what you are saying. I just wasn't sure. Thank you again.

Yes, go to the much better school 30 miles to the west.
(kidding, of course. Good luck.)
