People who misuse the 's. An apostrophe + s is used to indicate possessive nature of things. For example:
"My dog's doghouse is in the yard"

It is NOT correct to say "I love my dog's." Just use a plain s when you are pluralizing something. I especially hate it when I see stuff like XYZ (heart)'s their new pledges. The apostrophe is just unecessary and totally incorrect! This is 2nd grade grammar! Should be easy!

My only real pet peeve is when ppl call me and don't leave a msg. My cell doesn't give the # so i see that i got the call, but not by whom...not as vindictive as some of the pet peeves here.

People who do not use proper English. My mom was going to be an English teacher so she rubbed off on me a little bit.

Double negatives
Incorrect spelling
Wrong tense
Incorrect use of words (they're, there, their, etc.)

People that rely on spell check to catch all of their errors!

People that need to get in the elevator the very second it opens, without letting you out.

On the same theme, people that are standing immediately in front of the elevator doors, so that when the doors open their face is right in front of yours.

Okay, i have a new post about a pet peeve that happened today...

As all guys can attest; there's an unspoken rule regarding urinals. In most washrooms of 3, the outside urinals are only to be used. The middle one is the buffer-zone, mainly decoration. If I walk into a facility and the two outside ones are in use, i hit the stall or wait until one opens.

Earlier today i proceed into the men's room and am immediately followed by some guy. I hit the closest urinal hugging the wall when this jackass goes for the middle urinal. Before i'm about to blast-away, this guy is staring at me, just inches from my face. I give him the "what the %&#$ are you doing look", tuck my junk back into my pants and walk away.

Yes! Especially lately about signatures! This has been discussed a kabillion times since the feature became available.

Also, I hate it when I go to the movies and people sit right in front of me when there is plenty space in the theater.

people who answer and talk on their cell phones during a movie

people who take their kids out and about to the store or wherever when its past my bedtime(after midnight)
people who yell at their children in public
socks & sandals
people who don't dress for the weather
when someone tries to talk to you when you are on the phone
computerized talking animals(like in the movie cats & dogs)
many many many related to driving
slow people in general
double negatives
improper grammar
being second guessed/undermined/questioned about everything

My biggest pet peeves are:

Guys who are intimidated by independent women and feel the need to put those women down in a shoddy attempt to build their own egos up.

People who have no respect for the feelings of others.

People who continuously make their organizations look bad by posting stupid, derogatory comments about others.

I've got another one.

Girls who don't know how to use the internet access machines at my gym, but insist on using one of the TWO eliptical trainers with internet on it. Honey, if all you're going to do is play a CD and watch TV, go in the OTHER ROOM where there are like, 400 of those machines. Let those of use who are using these machines for internet have them. Didn't they get the memo that I get priority on the eliptical trainers with internet?

I have a lot, but can only think of a few right now:

*When on the phone with someone and they aren't listening (you can tell, they are watching a show and reply back with an "Uh-huh" when you asked them a question that isn't a yes or no)
*CRUMBS IN MY BED!!!!!! ARGH!
*The soccer mom types who are driving with one hand, handing little Courtney a juice box with the other, talking on the phone craddled in their neck, and trying to pull in a spot at the same FRIGGIN' TIME!!!!!!
*People who let their kids run around and use the equipment at the gym
*Incorrect apostrophe usage
*PEOPLE WHO STARE!!!!!! TAKE A FREAKIN PICTURE!
*When I am talking to someone, and someone else makes a comment about the conversation, and I WASN'T TALKING TO YOU!!!!!
