Heat Wave
today was probably the hottest day in the DFW area so far this summer in my opinion. i think we have a 25+ day of over 100 degrees in a row. our AC unit is working overtime! i should be use to it by now, but it still sucks especially when you want to go out and do things. anyone else?

I actually made a comment today about the temperature being better than it has been the past few days. It's still hot as balls out, but it seemed slightly less suffocating when I walked outside.

The "heat dome" with indexes over 115 for over a week or so has broken here but today was hot. It's just not as bad as it was. Nothing like perspective.

I wish I could send you guys some of my weather. When I hear numbers like 125, I wince with pain. That sounds awful!
<----slightly smug about her location
Seriously, I posted that one of my cousins in OK died in his apartment a couple of weeks ago because of the heat. Stay hydrated and be safe out there!

It's so odd seeing just about everyone I know who lives outside this area is in a heat wave.

It doesn't depress me at all, I love it. The past week has been unpleasant because it has been in the 80s and one day 90+, but the nights are usually in the 40s. Low tonight is 45, and the rest of the week the lows are around 50, with the high being 89.

This is what kills me about people saying they could never live in the Middle East because it's too hot. Right now it's 104 with a feels like of 118. BUT the city is built for it so you virtually never have to park in one of those ridiculous parking lots. It's almost always parking garages - still stifling but at least your steering wheel isn't on fire when you try to drive away. And then we have the most spectacular winters...

I love the Middle Eastern weather. Scorching but dry, not humid. And there always seems to be a little breeze. I'm off to Morocco in a few weeks and it's 107 there now. Loved summer in Turkey, Egypt en Tunisia. I've never been to Dubai though, really hope I get to go there any time soon!

I know, it's been a terrible summer. At least today is gorgeous in Seattle! Our summer seems to be shifting more and more to late July-August-September-early October.

I've felt guilty complaining about the lack of summer when everyone else is sweltering, but gotta go with my wet side comrades on this one - I'm just thrilled we've actually had two pretty days in a row. Beginning to think summer and global warming had forgotten about us up here in the corner.
I had assured a foreign exchange student friend that things would get nice about the middle of June. He's probably ready to kill me about now.
Peppy G-Phi - I hope you're right about the August -October thing, but last year it didn't seem like we got that either.

We have had maybe 10 nice days so far.

I think Michigan has had a pretty typical summer. A couple weeks of really hot (for us) including one day where we hit 100. Generally though, low of 70, high of 90 seems pretty average to me. It's humid as anything today though and I don't like the humidity.
Sad thing is, in a few short months it will be snowing. I'll take this weather over snowing.

Things are starting to cool off in Ohio.
We hit the 100+ mark with the humidity in the past few weeks, but we're back down into the 80s here for now. Whew.
The funny thing is, I'm from CA. People tease me and say "oh you should be used to this heat!"
Um, no. My hometown gets one week of heat max, and "heat wave" in So Cal = 85. lol.
