All-Greek Homecoming???

I am part of an All-Greek Alumni Committee, and we are trying to schedule an All-Greek Homecoming event(s).

If anyone out there in GC land has ever been a part of a joint venture such as this, please send any ideas, suggestions, warnings, comments or details.

We have a committee meeting this weekend, so all information will be greatly appreciated and definately considered!

THANKS!

I guess I should clarify that this is an All-Greek ALUMNI event we are working on. We are trying to get more ALUMNI to return to town for Homecoming, so this is a different type of event than the standard chapter vs. chapter undergrad member events that a lot of campuses have.

We want to have one BIG ALL-GREEK ALUMNI function for all chapters, all classes, all years instead of leaving it to each individual chapter to lure their alumni back for the weekend.

If you are going to have a full-blown reunion banquet, it might be a better idea to have this sometime in the spring instead of during Homecoming. I know at our school, homecoming is nuts and everyone is running all over town - there's so much to do. Plus it might be easier for alums to connect. Once they have done that and know that people they know will be at Homecoming they're more likely to come back.

All I can say is don't get too elaborate. Planning something of that scale can be a bitch! On the other hand don't have nothing going on...

Well.. good luck to ya!

For our homecoming, all of our sororities are matched up with fraternities and we build a float together for the homecoming parade. I know that a lot of times some of the frats have pig roasts or tours of the house for their alumni and the sororities often times have serenades for their alumni. But the main focus of homecoming is the floats, more recently the college is trying to take the attention away from the more or less Greek oriented parade and many clubs and organizations have also joined in.

I go to the same univ as Pike4Life...sorry I can't make the Sunday meeting. I wll be an equal distance on the other side of Atlanta

I know that I attended HC and the dance last year. The dance was hardly attended considering that the school has been around for years.

Our sorority had a pre-game function but there wasn' that many sisters there either.

We are spreading the word to WGa AGDs!!
