How old were you when you met your husband?
I was 19 and he was 21

How long before the question was popped?
Ugh, it felt like forever!!! But in reality, it was 4 1/2 years. The really cool thing is-the day he proposed to me was the same day that, 24 years earlier, my mom found out she was pregnant with me! Total coincedence!

How long was the engagement?
9 months-longest of my life, but way stressful because I graduated from nursing school, took my boards, moved across the country, and started a new job in that time span.

Now we've been married for 7 amazing years-still newlyweds in my mind!!!

POLL:

How old were you when you met your husband/wife? I was 18; He was 19.

How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped? Friends for 3 years; dating for seven months.

How long was the engagement? four months. We got engaged in April, and we were both starting grad school in August. It didn't make sense to pay for two apartments, so we planned a wedding for August 12, 2001. We started school the day after we returned from our honeymoom.

We were 22 and 23 years old when we got married. We've been married for more than 9 years now. Our courtship was a whirlwind, but I never doubted for a second we were doing the right thing.

He took me to the spot on campus where we first met and proposed.

How long was the engagement? 2 years (He was in flight school (Navy) and I was in photography school)

We've been married for a year and bought our first house together!!

Best thing that has ever happened to me (aside from my degree and my sorority membership!)

How old were you when you met your husband/wife? - I was 19, he was 18.

How long did you know each other before "the question" was popped? - 20 years. (well, there was this other marriage that I had for 13 years in between!)

How long was the engagement? 6 weeks.

After knowing each other for 20 years, and this being my 2nd marriage, there wasn't a lot of him-hawing around.

We eloped - and got married at the 2006 Alpha Phi Omega National Convention. Yup, *at* Convention!

It's an interracial relationship, not a big deal. Why wouldn't it work out?

Right, so why do people even ask? or make it out to be such a big deal?
