Aww you should totally go to the Date Dash and whatever other activities you can. From personal experience, Formal Recruitment can be a hard time for some chapters to really shine, and I know you may be a bit dissapointed you didnt get your first choice, but the more you get to know your new sisters, the more you may find out that Sigma Kappa is perfect for you after all!

Congratulations on Sigma Kappa. Enjoy the experience.
Slight Hijack. Violet Pretty, your comment about the boo-boo bunnies cracked me up. When I went on the HC at a chapter over 5 years ago, now, We went on a much needed tour of the nooks and crannies in the house. In every closet from the guest suite to the HC closet and those in between, we found bags, bags and more bags of boo-boo bunnies. So much so that in opening one closet they literally fell out of the closet on top of us. The chapter was only 4 years old at the time but the collection of bunnies had grown totally out of control. We took the wash cloths apart, cleaned them and donated them to a homeless shelter.

Congratulations! I know it may not be what you wanted, but I hope you give your new member period a chance!! I feel that's a much better way to get to know a chapter anyways.
I also hope you have a great time at your date dash! I know I've always had fun at mine
