The weirdest part is that it all works just fine on my laptop at home, while it doesn't at work. Both are PCs and both are running Firefox. I don't get it.

Okay, I have had my new MacBook for about a month and have tried everything...I've downloaded multiple fonts, installed my printer drivers, installed Adobe...but I am completely unable to view symbols on GreekChat. Everybody's signatures are all off. Chi Omega? CW. Alpha Phi Omega? AFW. Can somebody please help me?

I forgot to add that I've been using Safari, not Netscape. This was the only thread I could find on the topic, so I bumped it.

Replace these lines:

# Symbol font
encoding.symbol.ttf = Adobe-Symbol-Encoding

with these lines:

# Symbol font
# encoding.symbol.ttf = Adobe-Symbol-Encoding
encoding.symbol.ttf = windows-1252

Save the file and then restart Firefox and your Greek symbols will show up now.
Ooooohhhh! It worked. Thank you! That has been VERY annoying since I switched to my hubby's old lap top. For some reason it used to work on my old lap top's version of Firefox, but whatever. Works now!

it only works for me if I use the IETab rendering engine to see the FF tab as it would be in IE.
