Rush (the band) fans?
Please tell me if you're a Rush fan. If so, have you listened to the new album?
I interviewed the band for a piece at work and had the most awesome conversation.
If you're a Rush fan, please advise...

33: Sadly Neil is no longer granting press interviews. I did, however, speak to both Geddy and Alex. It was amazing.
I can't believe there are no Rush fans out there!
I am disappointed. I will be sure to post the link to my article so Mr. 33 can check it out.

I love Rush. Saw them in 94 during the Counterpart tour.

I'm a rush fan also. I have seen them twice. Once in 1993 and again in 1995 (dates are approximate, it's been awhile). I believe 1995 was the "Roll the Bones" tour ???

Rush has been my favorite band since I was about 14, but I've only seen them once, in 1995 on the Counterparts tour. They'll be in SoCal at the Verizon Wireless Aphitheater in September...hmmm, gotta get that night off work so I can go.
"Vapor Trails" lacks a lot of their past innovation, Peart keeps more of a steady beat than anything else. It's more laid-back, and I think it would appeal more to "mainstream" listeners who are unfamiliar with the band's musical history. The only song that inspired me was "How it Is," and even then I'm not too sure why. They were on KLOS, the classic rock station around here, but I couldn't call in 'cause I had to work, boo to that. Perhaps their new sound is due to their new producer?? Rupert Hine, who has been their producer for, what, like their past 5 albums (I think since "Hold Your Fire"), did not have a hand in "Vapor Trails." Rupert Hine is totally amazing...you know that Stevie Nicks song, "Rooms on Fire?" It's about him. (useless fun fact for today)
My favorite album is still "Presto."

AOPiBrandi:
"Roll the Bones" actually came out in '91. You probably saw them on their "Test for Echo" tour in '96 or '97.
I've been lucky enough to see them six times. They are amazing in concert!

Now that I see your post TechAPhi I can say I saw the Roll The Bones tour and the Counterparts Tour. I was just off on the dates a little - guess that's what happens when you get old

love'em
I went to Test for Echo, and plan to see them again in Charlotte in July. I relax to the music, dance to the music, party to the music, and do other things, too, to the music. When they came here last time, the tech crew let me sit in their booth for a while during the show and watch them work. That was amazing! The equipment they have is unbelievable.
