Fyi

Just got home from visiting my boyfriend and moving my last few belongings from Bowling Green to Louisville. I went alum after this past semester, and I have to take nine hours at U of L and then I have my degree in August.
But,
I was lavaliered tonight. My boyfriend is Farmhouse and he gave me a lavaliere and told me he should have done it a long time ago, that he loves me and wants to spend forever with me, but if things don't work out he wanted me to have it because that is what I meant to him.
We have been working things out lately and it has been hard so it really means a lot.

congrats

Way to go! This brings up an interesting point, can we still have candlelights? I mean, I don't see why we cannot have one with the local jr circles or alum groups.

Hope everything works out for you, sorry that we never got together last summer. Hope you enjoy Louisville and if you need to know where anything is let me know. FRankfort ave and Bradstown road have some great eatting places! I wish Lexington had the same kind of places, but it doesn't (or at least I haven't found them yet!)

Loyally,
Arin

Lightbulb okay... i know it's a lightbulb....

....but it kind of looks like a candle flame....

A virtual candlelighting

Congratulations and best wishes to both of you!

Congrats Sarah! Sorry I didn't get to meet you Friday night. Hopefully in the Fall!

Arin, my fav Lexington place for ribs was TW Lee's. Don't know if it is still there...it was years ago. Also,Lex. was where I was first introduced to Fazoli's breadsticks!!

Hubby worked for the UK Computer Services Section for a couple of years and so did the current Atlanta Alumnae JC Pres.

Congrats to you!!! I never got lavalired (sp) but I bet it would have been awesome!

You can have a candle cer. in JC if you want just ask the pres. to do one at your next meeting! I think that would be cute!

Congrats on your lavaliering!

I have a question-- what does your lavalier look like...I mean if it was a group with greek letters that would be easy to imagine (like my past Phi Delt and current TKE lavalier ) but what does a Farmhouse lavalier look like? Does it have Farmhouse spelled out?

(P.S.-- My ole gold Phi Delta Theta lavalier-- oops, did I drop that down the toilet? Oops, I flushed it too. LOL )

It is a gold F on top of an H that is what they use. He is getting me a hat and stuff that I wasn't allowed to wear unless lavaliered.
So that is what it looks like. Oh and the nearest Junior Circle is in Lexington which is a little far for me. SO I think I am going to contact the Louisville Alumnae club. There is also one for Bowling Green for my chapter, but I don't know where I am going to be in the next year or so.
We will see. But no candlelighting for me That is okay, it is more than that for us.

Just For Sarah

* It's not the REAL thing but gather 'round GC Alpha Gam's and sing*

Candle Lighting Time

When the dusk grows softly purple,
And the western gold turns gray,
Then our hearts go questing, calling
For friends of yesterday.
For the Alpha Gamma comrades
And the days of “Auld Lang Syne,”
And we dream of dear old friendships
When it’s candle lighting time.
That’s when kindred hearts come closest,
that’s when bonds are strong and free
And as dancing flames grow steady,
Brighten love and loyalty.
Then let’s breath a prayer of gladness,
For the days of “Auld Lang Syne,”
And the vision’s clear our Founders had
At candle lighting time.

Congratultions Sarah

Oh my Lord, I must be suffering from a hormone overload, because I think I'm going to cry.

That was SO sweet.
