Sigma Sister/Symbol Sightings

A take off of the finding letters you didn't expect thread, I thought it would be fun to note where we see Sigmas, either sisters or even symbols!

I recently moved to the Gulf Coast, and I've been lucky to find little sailboats around (and not on the water!). I found a really cool little sailboat sun dial at Kessler AFB when we were staying there, and then over the holidays they had lit up sail boats on light poles for holiday decorations!

As silly as it seems, it made me feel really happy and okay with moving to have something so special as Sigma showing itself in little unexplained places!

How about you all?

The walmart here has really cute pajama shorts for women with sailboats on them.
Sculls are found every where these days (we tend to use this symbol a lot at my chapter) but while at walmart I also found some really cute shoe lases with scull and cross bones.

You too?! I'm so glad we Coach-addicts have each other to lean on when the shopping urge hits!

It's funny though, prior to being a Sigma I definitely viewed the Skull & Crossbones as a scary thing, but now I see it as something more. Plus whenever I do see any S&C I immediately yell out, "SIGMA!"

I met an alumna from another chapter (I wish I remembered where) a couple weeks ago at a high school water polo tournament my younger sister was in. This woman saw "Sigma Kappa EK" printed on the bottom of the front of my shirt, and she came up to me to say hi. I loved it!

Fall '09, I had just been initiated when I went home one weekend for a gathering of my HS classmates. I was wearing a philanthropy shirt with ΣΣΣ on the front when we all went to our HS's football game. I ran into my art teacher there (one of my favorite teachers during HS) and when she saw my t-shirt she said "Are you a Tri-Sigma now? I was in Sigma in college!" It was amazing; it still just makes me grin, thinking about it.

Another story isn't mine, but one of my Sisters (Katelyn). She's from Michigan and was flying back to SC from home after winter break last year. There was an issue before take-off (I don't quite remember all the details, but I think it had something to do with an unruly passenger?) and Katelyn and another girl were both lucky enough to be moved to first class. As they were both sitting down, the other girl noticed Katelyn wearing letters. She turned out to ALSO be a Sigma who went to school in Michigan!

Gotta love stories like that. Small world, huh?

Can't believe I never posted this, but during the fall I went to the Art Museum in Philadelphia and met two Tri Sigmas from TCNJ who knew a staff member that I know at Penn State! They were wearing these cute letter jackets and I immediately geeked out and introduced myself. It is so cool to see our sisters everywhere.

OMG I have 2 stories.
1. I was at the mall shopping all the sudden I hear someone yell "hey you Tri Sigma" ! I turned around and this lady working behind the makeup counter was like OMG I'm a Sigma! Its so great to see my letters walking around (I had a sewn on letter shirt on). It was so nice to meet another Sigma!.

2. I was at the hospital with a sister and we were getting off the elevator. Both wearing letters of course. We ran into this lady probably like 85yrs. old she had a Tri Sigma Letter hoodie on. We were all so happy to see letters we started hugging and she started Tri Sigma Clap lol So cute!
