The part about universal healthcare made me think of that SNL skit - "Really? Healthcare for the entire universe? Even Osama Bin Laden?"

I knew someone was going to post this. Obama was the first person I thought about when "Universal Health Care" was mentioned.
I loved it. But only an hour? I thought it was going to at least be two hours.

I did not see the original, but I thought this was good. Not sure that the three month hiatus will keep me tuned in when March rolls around, but I was definitely impressed.

I watched, not sure what I think yet. I wasn't that bowled over - like I've been with Flash Forward (heck of a good show). The last 15 minutes got better, faster paced. I'll give it another chance.

I liked it! I, too, LOVED the original in the 80s. The special effects will be even better this time around and I still find little Scott Wolf yummy so I'm glad to see he's back on a big show.

OMG that's who that was! Live-in and I were debating all night about the guy that looks like Michael J. Fox and was that the only reason he looked familiar!

I watched it and actually enjoyed it, but there was a lot of political agenda in there. I felt the plot moved ahead rather quickly (the acceptance of the Visitors, their demands, etc.), but in a pilot you want to tell as much as story as you can.
If I remember correctly, the original ended with an inter-species baby with a crazy tongue. Is that right? That image creeped me out for years!
The dude from "The 4400" kept making me think that I was watching that show (hated it but hubby loved it). He has the same mannerisms, demeanor, etc. Same thing with Juliet from "Lost". When you identify an actor with a particular character, they need to do a bang-up job to make you forget. Hopefully, as time goes on, they'll grow into their parts.

Well, there were two babies, one regular baby with a forked tounge, and one mostly alien baby who died shortly after birth. The humanoid baby aged quickly, and was like 6 at the end of the miniseries. Basically, because of the alien baby's death, they were able to find a toxin that was deadly to the visitors. The resistance mass produced it and launched hundreds of hot air balloons that contaminated the atmosphere.
Diana attempted to launch the LA mothership's doomsday device, but Elizabeth (the humanoid alien twin) had some mystical powers and deactivated the device.
Diana escaped and starred in V the Series. (The toxin stopped working!)

I never watched party of five. That was one that I just... missed. No explanation.
However, I did know who Scott Wolf was (please - when party of five was on was when I was at the age where you read teen beat and dream of JTT.)
