Recruitment

I'm at a semi-competitive school in the south, I'm a sophomore as well with average gpa and activities. today was the second day of our recruitment, and I was only invited back to 3 houses, however these 3 were my top choices and the places I could really see myself, but since 7 parties was the max today and I only had 3 I'm really nervous I'm not going to get invited back. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to handle this situation.

I think you will find that there are many women on here who found a home with very few choices left by pref night. Keep an open mind and try to enjoy the process. Being a sophomore, depending on your school can be a liablity, so I am guessing that is what has happened to you. However, you have not given us much insight into your situation. Is this your first time going though recruitment? New school? Friends in any of the houses?

Advice - Keep a positive attitude.

cm786, be yourself, have fun and treat it like a job interview. Good luck!

1) getting selected/released during recruitment is out of your hands so focus your attention on getting to know the chapters instead of worrying about that which you cannot control, 2) you can only accept one bid so what does it matter if you don't have a full schedule, and 3) getting heavily cut one day is not an indicator one way or the other of future cuts to come. Good luck.

Try not to worry! When I went through, I went from 5 to 1....ouch....(it took me a long time to get over) but guess what? That 1 is my home, it was my first choice all along, and I belong there. So, like everyone else said, all that matters is one, youre doing fine!
