hey, i had my interview today...it went well. the only thing that sucks is that there is one othey guy running against me...and it's someone from my house. neither of us knew the other was applying for the position, so we ended up running against each other. i am still waiting to hear who won...anyway...

Represent
How you can look at this possibly touchy situation is that at least one guy from your chapter will be on the IFC board which is always a good thing and also it looks good for your chapter leadership wise...

UPDATE!!!
well i know i left a lot of you hanging, but it was only because i didnt know myself if i had gotten the IFC position. anyway, i had called the head IFC guy the last day i was in SD and left him a message with all of my contact info at home. after being home for 3 weks i emailed him. he responded by saying that he did not know what was going on and that he would get back to me. well he didn't. i was pissed, how can IFC be so unorganized?? anyway, i sent him another email and was like "what's the deal?" he wrothe back and was like "i will call you this week, i am making an excutive decision...i have big plans for you." so he calls and tells me that he wants me to organize the battle of the bands pre-resh event. thats a big deal. but he finds out that i'm home in nor cal so he told me that he would work on it until i get back to san diego, and that he wanted me to represent IFC at the nor-cal freshman orientation later this month.
so i guess i either have the position, or i'm being tested out in a big way.

Hey congrats! I'm so happy for you... i went to the northern CA orientation last year and had a great time, so i hope you have a great time meeting all the new students... as for the battle of the bands, that's really awesome! I could be wrong, but i don't remember that from last year... anyways, congrats again

I definately know the feeling! Occasionally our Exec Board has a tough time getting stuff done, but we this year are better than in the past. The bigger problem is trying to get all of the chapters represented, especially for a big vote. The latest case of this was when a NIC fraternity wanted to recolonize on our campus. Two chapters did not even bother to send delegates to the meeting in which the vote was taken, and our IFC President was forced to break the tie vote and he voted to grant permission to colonize. It was kind of ironic that one of the chapters that had voiced concern didn't even bother to show up!

Try this
If you get an IFC rush position, try to eliminate 10% of the rules this fall.
Maybe even try to eliminate 50% of the rules.
Everybody will love it, and every chapter will be more successful.
