fast hair help!

Ok ya'll.. I'm going to a formal in about 3 hours and I have NO CLUE what to do with my hair. I have the dress, the shoes, makeup handled.. but no hair ideas at all.. Anyone have any ideas?!?!?!?

Well, when I am in a bind, I just wash my hair and wear it down. I have almost straight, long red hair so if I just blow it out with the hair dryer and put a little laminating serum on it, it looks great. Otherwise, I have a friend do it up. I never attempt updos on my own! I always pay for it or like I said, get a friend to do it. One time I did my own hair...I did that side chunk part thing with a low ponytail, which is easy and looks very chic. You just spray the hair that is against your head and smooth over with your hand to make it look polished and fly-away-free. That's all the advice I can give! Whatever you do, don't put products in it until you know you like it, or else you will get caught needing to wash it out with not enough time left!!!!!

If you have thin hair that doesn't hold well in updos unless you go to a professional (and I feel your pain!) go get your hair curlers (if you have any) and go warm them up ASAP and leave them in your hair for about 30 minutes. Take out the hair curlers and put your hair in a low-ponytail. Take the hair that's in the ponytail and twist it. Bring that section up to the top of your head and pin it. Tuck loose ends into other sections of your hair. You just made your very own French Twist! Or, if you have a friend available, ask them to do a french braid and tuck the remaining strands under the braid.

Thanks for everyone's help. I went with the advice about the low ponytail with the side part and I added a small crystal clip to it. The formal was great! Thanks again for your help!
