A little quiz...
I stole this from another message board and remixed it a bit. Enjoy!
1. Which Greekchat thread or post means the most to you?
2. What celebrity would you love to date?
3. What's your next career move?
4. What would you do with $100 right this second?
5. Do you REALLY think you could quit GreekChat right this second a never post again?

1. I've been here too long. None jump out at me at the moment as being of any great consequence. I think, if I had to name my favorite GC happening, it'd have to be the rise and fall of Gamma Chi.
2. None that I know of. The celebrities I have known have had trainwreck personal lives. You couldn't pay me to date those folks.
3. Law school graduation followed by the Oklahoma Bar Exam.
4. Cash it and put it in my wallet to use later for parking/covers/etc.
5. In theory, yes. I'm not planning on testing that theory anytime soon.

1. For me, it was some thread where I was debating the definition of a service fraternity/service sorority with a bunch of people who ended up kissing up to me once I became an Alpha. Not that it had special meaning, but it was the first instance I had of other people changing because I had become a social greek.
2. The list is endless, but Lenny Kravitz is up there.
3. More training in the field of development. I am happy where I work and I'm not interested in leaving or having any other promotions any time soon. (Raises are always welcome, but I like my title)
4. I would go straight to Borders and use a coupon for some DVDs.
5. I freely admit my GC addiction.

4. head to the grocery store for my weekly fresh fruits and veggies run

1. Ummm....I don't know..
2. I'd like to look at Paul Walker every day. And Taye Diggs. Just physical relations.
3. Applying to graduate school, for real. I can't take this "barely scraping by" crap.
4. Put gas in the car, pay day care for the week.
5. No. I enjoy the people I've "met" here entirely too much.

1. If I had to pick, I'd say my rush thread circa 2004. It's like the only record I have of when I was going through COB, and it's nice to be able to look back on how excited I was and what I was thinking/posting at the time.
2. There are so many. Right now I'd probably go with Jason Mraz or some other guy with a guitar.
3. My next career move will be finishing up my classes, starting my internship, and graduating. I'm also hoping to make some connections so that I can land my ideal job in my field of study.
4. If I had $100 right now, I'd spend it clothes since the weather is changing.
5. I probably could.

1. There isn't really a thread or post that means a lot to me, I'm not really that emotionally invested in the board. Like Kevin, I've been around this board so long that a lot of the threads have just ended up mashing together.
2. Married, so not sure this applies, unless I wanted to end up divorce court. I think that Kate Beckinsale, Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson are pretty attractive, though.
3. Graduating law school, taking the bar, then working somewhere, whether it be my current company, a private firm, or in an AG's office somewhere.
4. I'm pretty cheap, so I'd probably just put it in the bank.
5. I was gone from the site for about 6 months, so I'm sure I could quit it for good if I really put my mind to it.

1. This thread / post does not mean the most to me, but it is one that crosses my mind from time-to-time: I think it was in the AKA forum and the thread was something like 'The decline of the D9' and in it RainMan was very anti-NPHC, then a couple of years later he joins KAPsi.
2. I like and agree with Kevin's answer so I'll say that!
3. I'm enjoying my first one still!
4. Go to James Avery (jamesavery.com) and start building my charm bracelet.
5. No. For me GC is free entertainment. Emphasis on free!

1. Which Greekchat thread or post means the most to you?
I liked where Jesus H. Christ answered our questions.
2. What celebrity would you love to date?
I don't think I'd want to date any celebrity (besides, I'm married), but I like to look at Dwayne Johnson (Yes, The Rock. I know. Shut up.) I think Jack Black would be heelarious. And I like to listen anyone with an accent, even if I can't understand half of what they say.
3. What's your next career move?
dunno, but if I get my patootie in gear, I might apply for a new job in a different city. Problem: it has to be in by Friday. Have I worked on my resume or cover letter in, oh, about 8 years? no.
4. What would you do with $100 right this second?
impulsively: buy a sweet new pair of cute shoes or blow it at sephora
responsibly: put it in our savings account
5. Do you REALLY think you could quit GreekChat right this second a never post again?
no. and I'm cool with that.

1. Which Greekchat thread or post means the most to you?
James' "A Holiday Thought from someone with no living family" thread. Gets to me every time.
2. What celebrity would you love to date?
John Mayer. Sure, he's known to be a gigantic asshole, but I'd date him if it meant listening to him all day and night.
3. What's your next career move?
Not sure yet, but I'm positive I'll stick with working in non-profits. If BF and I ever decide to get married, I'd be willing to leave the non-profit sector and help him expand his business.
4. What would you do with $100 right this second?
impulsively: buy better curtains for the apartment
responsibly: save it for my big trip out East next year
5. Do you REALLY think you could quit GreekChat right this second a never post again?
I think so. I went without posting for a few months in 2006 (I think), and I'm sure I could make it permanent this time. GreekChat's a fun place to be but it can also cause harm, as some of you already know. All the fun's not worth 1% of the harm.

1. I really enjoyed/enjoy the conversations on the Why do multicultural orgs exist and LGLO threads.
2. There's no one I'd want to date in particular, but I'd love to have tea with Cate Blanchett. I like her a lot.
3. First I have to figure out how to shake loose from my current job without losing my house.
4. Pay down my mortgage.
5. No - not because Greek Chat is a fixture in my life but rather that if I tell myself not to come back, the temptation will be too great and I'll be forced to do it.

1. Which Greekchat thread or post means the most to you?
One of my very first GC posts was about the meaningfulness of SAI ritual and it still speaks to me. I find myself seeking it out on days I'm tired of SAI.

Being greek has to do with the traditions and rituals laid down as the foundation by the founders. Sisterhood is not about the word, but the intention behind the ritual that creates those bonds. Sorority sisters share secrets that are only privelege to it's members.
Sigma Alpha Iota began as music sorority because the founders didn't want just any club, they wanted a sisterly bond to exist among it's members.
Mystic Cat is correct when he states Phi Mu Alpha's exemption from title IX (although for a very short time, the did admit women). The exemption is made for social fraternities and sororities. SAI requested exemption from IX and recieved it because the requirements for membership were broadened to one music class. Our founders did not intend for men to share in this sisterhood with us (hehehe ). It is a broad misconception, even among sisters, that we are a professional organization. We are not. We exist to foster relationships and social connections among women interested in music.
No, WildCat, we are not affiliated with NPC, but that does not take away from the careful planning, love, and dedication put forth by our founders to supply us with this beautiful sisterhood. When someone tells me that SAI is not greek, I imagine myself in the middle of an initiation ceremony and recall all the beautiful words said. They do not know our ritual and they do not know our secrets. They are speeking from an uninformed mouth, and that is okay because only the best are SAI.

Even though I rarely post, probably not. I'll keep coming back as long as OTW is around. It wouldn't be the same without her.
