Fraternity Chore Systems

So my fraternity, recently recolonized and is slowly establishing systems for our house. I'm the standards chair/ house manager and am trying to figure out good ways to 1. actually get guys to do their chores, 2. Get them to do them at least decently well 3. Get them to do chores on time.

I know every house has some lazy guys, mine has a lot, and I get tired of being more or less the house maid. I have no problem getting in peoples faces about chores and nagging but we still don't have any good system in place having tried at least 3 or 4 different ones under different house managers over the past 2 years. Fines on house bills haven't been very effective since a lot of the guys just give the bill to their parents and I'm not really sure how to enforce social probation.

Any help?

forgot to mention, house points haven't really worked for our house since room selection is done by the President and by you ranking/age in the house

When you have a mixer, they aren't allowed to go to it. Easy peasy.

Tell folks to either do the chores they're assigned or you'll hire a cleaning service and raise dues.

Problem is also that the majority of the guys not doing the chores, also the ones that don't go to exchanges anyway...go figure. I was wondering what some people did in their houses?

It's not hazing if you have the pledges do most of the work but have a few of the younger brothers help. "Last initiated, do ______" is one of the most uttered phrases in our Lodge. Honestly though I'm not sure how fraternities with big houses do without a cleaning service, compared to the houses in the south, our Lodge is small and we still need a weekly cleaning service or it gets out of control.

We've got a janitor who comes every day to do a lot of the vacuuming and cleaning bathrooms kind of stuff, then pledges for doing dishes, cleaning up meals, mopping, picking up our destroyed house after a party, etc. If peoples' parents are paying anyways stop bitching at them to clean and just raise their dues and get a cleaning service, the cleaning will come out a lot better that way anyways.

The definition of hazing varies from group to group.
