Recruiting for the new colony

Hey everyone! I'm one of the new Phis from the colony coming to Elmhurst College. We were formerly a local sorority, and we have about ten girls from that organization coming through to Phi Mu. The nationals are planning to recruit fifty more in February so that we can reach max on campus. Meanwhile formal recruitment is already done for the year, and even trying to get girls to sign up for that is a challenge.

Long story short, I was wondering if any of you girls have been through the colonization process and how recruiting worked out for you. Our girls right now are serving on exec board in both Panhel and Greek Council, as well as co-chairing Walk for Hope (a huge campus wide Philanthropy which donates to cancer research). So, we're definitely putting the name out there now. Additionally a lot of the guys from Lambda Chi Alpha are willing to help.

I guess I'm just nervous because the idea of getting 50 girls in one shot (without comprimising quality of course) is mind-blowing to me. Also, we would really appreciate any advice you have on what worked well for you chapter. Thanks!

I'm sure that HQ has a plan for your school. Don't forget this isn't the first time this year they've started basically from scratch. Trust them, they know what they are doing. Find out what their ideas are a put a lot of effort into seeing them through. It may seem strange at first, but always make the "new" women feel welcome as they will be fresh faces to Phi Mu too. It will be a fun journey to take together.

As an EC alum I'm thrilled to see EC get beyond the two choices that have been around forever! Even more thrilled at the colony is Phi Mu! Congratulations!
