Remembering Founder's Names?

Anyone have any tips on learning the founder's names? Any funny pneumonic devices or songs? My pledge test is in a week and a half and I am having trouble with remembering!

Haha! I wish!

Try to arrange their names in an order in which you can put a mnemonic device like that one for the planets: My very educated mother just-whatever-for Mercury, Venus, Earth, etc.

You'd think that I'd remember the song, having been VP Social and their advisor, but there's a song to the tune of Frere Jacques that is really good for the names...I can't remember the order of the Founder's, but give me a sec and I'll go find out!

This sounds odd, but my chapter has used this forever.

CLEM RAN JJIFF

C-Clara Brownlee Hutchinson
L-Libbie Brook Gaddis
E-Emma Brownlee Kilgore
M-Margaret E. Campbell
(get it?)

Rosa Moore
Ada Bruen Grier
Nancy Black Wallace

Jennie Nicol

Inez Smith Soule
Fanny Whitenack Libbey
Fannie Ann Thompson

I know that the acronyms aren't really words. But it worked for me! Good luck!

Trojan Girl,

I would just go over all the info for the pledge test each day before the test. The song really helps too! You can sing it quietly to yourself during the test and it works! I was so nervous before mine because I had a HUGE logic test the same day! Good luck and don't stress about it! You'll do fine and I can't wait to call you my initiated sister!

founders

i know it's kinda late to help, but for future reference, our chapter (florida epsilon) always uses ANJJEL FFRICM (pronounced angel frickham) and as odd as it sounds, it works wonders.

ANJJEL FFRICM

My chapter (Florida Delta) uses that, too. Why do all of our founders have to have three names?!

Um, most Founders' names consist of FIRST + MAIDEN (INITIATED) + MARRIED names.

I know why they all have three names. I myself have three names (my middle one being my mom's maiden name.) I meant, "I wish they didn't all have three names b/c that makes it even harder to remember them all." Aren't you happy that's one more of your sisters who isn't brain dead?

LOL ROWDY. I will have to agree with you. I don't know about you guys, but we're supposed to know the spelling of the entire name of each founder. It's not too bad, but they all have odd spellings! We personally sing a song to help us remember (Frere Jacque *spelling?*).
