KKG has 87 new pledges!! My daughter is proudly one of them. Ole Miss rush is competitive and serious business, but about 12-15 girls from our city, in a border-state to the west got great bids! Maybe not being from Mississippi isn't as "bad" as it used to be for having a successful rush! That, to me, is a great thought!

Excuuuuuuuse me, but did you have permission in advance to miss part of the bid day festivities, or did you decide that letting GCers know was worth risking a fine or a talking-to?

DD, who didn't rush but had lots of friends who did, said cuts were bad after 1st round but only two of her friends were released and both were (supposedly) grade related. We're all out of staters and one girl got her recs in after water parties. Ole Miss heresy! 2 are Pi Phi, 2 are Kappa, one is AOPi, 2 are KD and one is Chi O. Everyone feels lucky and exhausted.

I have to change our number of new girls. Phi Mu now has 89 wonderful Phis! We gave bids to three girls last night. What had happened was that these three suicided and the computer thought that Phi Mu was their second choice, so therefore they weren't placed. After we found out what had happened, we wanted to give these girls bids still, so our chapter advisor was on the phone with nationals all day trying to get them to approve the extra girls. Luckily, nationals did and we had three new girls running to their new home!

just found out from a co-worker that her step-daughter is a new member of kappa delta at ole miss. that is especially nice because the girls mom is also a kd!

My baby sister is going thru rush at Ole Miss next year and I was curious if all the houses did make quota? Forgive me if this is posted somewhere else! (From what I have seen Phi Mu, KKG and Pi Phi have made quota).

I believe all but one made quota. All of the chapters at Ole Miss are well-respected, strong chapters.

It's fun to see the lists in the DM!
I've also been enjoying the "This Greek" column - last week it told about Rush each day and now they are covering some of the things they'll be doing this fall.
